Snowbound in a car with their two daughters -- one a 4-year-old, the other an infant -- Kati and James Kim tried to keep warm by running the engine at night.

When the food ran out, James Kim ate wild berries, uncertain whether they were safe, his family said. Finally, when no help arrived, authorities said he set out on foot to find help in the remote area of southern Oregon, wearing only tennis shoes, pants, a sweater and a jacket.

Kati Kim flagged down a helicopter search crew with an umbrella and was rescued along with her daughters, Penelope and 7-month-old Sabine. James Kim still hadn't been found.

Oregon State Police Lt. Doug Ladd said there is "a very reasonable chance" Kim is still alive and that the family said he had some outdoor experience.

The area is in the same region where another family was found in their RV in March. The family, which had been missing for more than two weeks, had also taken a shortcut and become stuck in the snow.

But God is merciful and watches out small children and fools.
James Kim is a CNET editor. He is still missing. Prayers are still needed.
Prayers for him.
Agreed.
Prayers for James and thank you God for the safe return of the mother and 2 children.
Father, we lift up James to you in prayer - lead the searchers to his side, and guide him safely home! In Jesus name, I pray it...

Thanks for the Link.
But that is only one thread.
Who knows this area? What kind of road in Oregon would not have had another car drive on it for over a week?? I mean Oregon is not Alaska...
Sorry - here is the other one I meant:

It's a miracle, that's for sure. I never expected them to be found. I thought for sure they'd gone into a deep ravine or something. What a harrowing experience.
Hope they can find the Dad safe & sound, too.
Oregon has a lot of deserted mountain roads, and old logging roads, that are great for camping trips in good weather, but aren't suitable for snow.
