Have you ever come across any information about a meeting in Beirut, January 2001?

Andrea Koppel was covering the State Department at the time the piece was written, so I assume the unnamed officials she used as her source were in the State Department. It was written before 9/11, so it probably wasn't big news when it was written, but looking at it now it seems like it should have been huge news.

Thanks for the ping, Ikez78. Like you, I remain actually stunned that the administration doesn't discuss or defend this position at ALL.

If a housewife sitting at her computer can do it, why can't the president?

And I'll add that if the president had discussed this matter with the seriousness it deserves, the support for the war in Iraq would be much, much higher than it currently is and our troops wouldn't be wondering why so many Americans don't support their mission.

Thanks for the ping. In essence I have been harping this route since I joined this site. They had the stuff, hid and destroyed a lot of it, and shipped some to Syria and elsewhere.
And some had been found by our troops.
The problem obviously is will main stream America ever realize why the intel was much better then many on different fronts have made it appear.
And even if they where to be convinced given some hard to hide big finds, would they give two bits. After all the news might get in the way of their prime time boob tube fantasies.
It is easier to just keep repeating the mantra....Bush lied, and vote for demorats and RINOS.
And this is why the L/MSM will not go out of existence. To few percentage wise even have access to alternate news and views.
