Wife and two daughters of senior editor James Kim found in Oregon; search is still on for James Kim, who left the car on foot two days ago.
The wife and daughters of missing CNET senior editor James Kim have been found alive and airlifted to a local hospital, authorities announced at a press conference in Merlin, Ore., Monday afternoon.
James Kim left the car on snowshoes two days ago to seek help and has not been found, the official said. The search for him continues.
According to the official speaking at the news conference, the conditions of Kati, Penelope and Sabine are not yet known. More details are expected at a press conference at 5 p.m. PST, which CNET will stream live.
Kati Kim reportedly flagged down a helicopter rented by families of the missing persons.
After searches in Oregon's Curry and Douglas counties, new information on missing CNET senior editor James Kim and his family narrowed the search back to the Bear Camp area in Josephine County, according to reports Monday.
A cell phone tower received a signal from one of the family's cell phones at about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday near Glendale, but officials say the signal is only an indicator the family could have been within 26 miles of Glendale at that time, according to a report in The Oregonian.
r u going to post their lyrics too?
For some reason, I can't find the rest of it. Unless I misunderstoon, Anderson Cooper said that the tips would be on his blog. This just seems to be a prelude to the tips.
Thanks for the link! What did they talk about on Greta?
I've been a Southerner for half a century, and I've never used "bless your heart" to be catty. That must be a newer use of the term.
I think they should put the actual months it is closed on the sign: ie., Closed November through April, or whatever.
It's not winter yet, so some people wouldn't think of the time around Thanksgiving as being winter.
On Greta they interviewed the SAR guy they called to go get the body and the guy in charge of the operation. Neither of them said much that I found interesting. I got the impression they were a bit on the defensive. Saying things such as they have a high success rate. They have a 100% rate of recovery or retrieval. The guy that went to get the body after the private helicopter found Kim said that he was called in that day because they needed more help from a specialized team. I was a bit disappointed with the coverage. I'd rather seen an interview of the guy flying the helicopter that found Kim.
I think you may be correct. I never heard anyone say it in my childhood in a catty way. I did hear my Grandmother say it in a rather condescending manner, such as, "Bless his heart, he's as dumb as a stump, but I love just the same." It wasn't until I was an adult that I'd hear people say it to be intentionally nasty and directly to the person in question.
ah gee RG...I was kidding about the lyrics...kinda funny from the previous run at it...
Sorry u couldn't take a joke.
U really don't want to start snapping with me. I will have to half my brain behind my back to even give you a chance.
That is an amazing and heartbreaking set of images. So close. I was seeing if I could reply to the person who created the site. It would be interesting to see if he had made it to the large river if he would have been able to see the camp upstream (at least it seems to be upstream). And if not - he probably would have turned right and gone downstream away from the camp anyway.
It sure shows what a good map can do.
From what people are saying he was pretty much at the end of the line in that canyon. He would had to swim through an area of steep caynon walls on both sides to get to a part where he could navigate through the end of creek area and to where the Rogue River was.
Shame he didn't scout 1-2 miles on the roads around him he might have stumbled onto Bear Lake Lodge which was right down the road from the car.
Never had the courage to go over that road in the summer let alone in the winter. Have driven on some other wagon tracks in that area and they will curl your hair w/2000' canyons everywhere.
That guy was crazy to try that pass in snow. The Oregon wilderness is nothing to take lightly.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Stop it now.
Yes it is a tricky place for sure. I don't think the Kim's had any idea what road they were on.
Always praying for our troops and POTUS. My nephew is home and out after two deployments over there. We are glad he is home safely. Hopefully all our troops will get out of there soon but not until the job is done.
Stop it now.
LOL...not sure why is feathers got ruffled...
LOL!
Please...both of you....a man is dead. Drop it.
