Congress will approve an immigration bill that will grant citizenship rights to most of the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens in the U.S. after Democrats take control next month, predict both sides on Capitol Hill. While Republicans have been largely splintered on the issue of immigration reform, Democrats have been fairly unified behind the principle that the illegals currently in the country should get citizenship rights without having to first leave the country.

By the way, after that movie, I changed my tagline to the poem Holmes quotes on his 90th birthday radio address.
The hell with a wall, just address Mexico in no uncertain terms that this country can no longer tolerate the security breach in this day of Terrorism nor can we continue to bear Mexico's problem.
They will take the border fence budget and use it to build water stations and taco stands. Welcome to America brochures.
Live in the REAL WORLD.
It's coming. And all thanks to you all who wouldn't agree to a worker's program.
We thank you all! Take a bow.
Oh, please. When did GWB ever even say he wanted to stop illegal immigration, much less do anything about it? He's been worse at enforcing our immigration laws than Clinton! He has no desire to enforce our laws and secure our borders. He hispanders constantly.
If the RNC (and the President) had taken a stand against illegal immigration and for border security in this election, they'd have won. Handily. The elitists of the Repub. establishment have sold us out, whether you're willing to see it or not.
Nobody pays a damn bit of attention to you, Howlin. At least no one who matters, anyway.
>>>>Finally showing your true colors for all to see.
Why, because I enjoy seeing you suffer. SERVES YOU RIGHT TO SUFFER!...you fool. Its liberal-moderate-centrist Republicans like you who wouldn't stand side by side with conservatives, against the status quo of WashDC, and the big government Republicanism of GWBush, Speaker Hastert and Bill Frist. It was liberal-moderate-centrist Republicans like you, who kept posting on Free Republic that everything was just fine and dandy with the GOP prospects. And what happened? You Bushies blew it!
But one thing you never stopped doing over the last six years, and that was trashing conservatives. Something you're still doing to this day. You hate conservatism and conservatives.
"It will be a lesson that will last for generations. They will not be loyal to the democratic party either. The only party they are a member of is la rasa."
History doesn't bear that out. When President Reagan granted amnesty to 3 million illegals in 1986, we now know that about 44% of them voted for Bush in 2004 and 53% of them voted for Kerry but only 38% of them voted for Republicans last month. The Mexican born Latino share of the electorate is increasing with each election and the folks who vote are not about to support a political party that will send their illegal parents and grandparents back to Mexico.
I'm not endorsing it, I'm just tyring to explain the political equation.
Um... veto?
Maybe...lets see..not signing a massive betrayal of America just so you go up 2 percent in the polls for a few weeks?
You wanted us to stay home or vote to let the dems take control??
Are you referring to the message the Nativists were sending to President Bush in the last election?
Ummmm ... what happens if the Dems have enough #'s to overide a veto????
Gee, Thanks for painting me with that brush. I consider myself to be a little more intelligent than what you insinuate. It must be nice to be so intuitive, able to pass judgement based on a couple of sentences.
It's obviously pointless for a Republican candidate to seek the support of someone like you.
No actually I support many Republicans. Rick Renzi has been a personal friend for more than 25 years. However, I still believe more than a few Republicans will come out in support of this legislation, now that the weight of the election has been lifted and they can support Bush's non-amnesty plan.
Also, before you attempt to clobber me about Bush, I am an avid supported of most of his policies, I just don't support him on his border policies.
We are still strong, but we've lost our way as a nation, the loss of values has hurt us.. I thought 9/11 would wake us up..apparently we're in a deeper sleep. But I do think we have what it takes, but it must be a united belief, and right now the country is polarized more than ever.. we really do need to come together somehow because the threats out there have become dire.
Why am I not surprised?
You're a hoot.
Amnesty, and the destruction of the Republican party, brought to you by GWB.
Enjoy.
Yep, just look at the comments on this thread. There's a reason Nativists are called "Know Nothings".

Got any use for 20+ million future dumocrats?
I don't.
You must have a big lawn that needs trimming, hugh?
:)
I don't speak for Howlin, but if there is an answer to your demand, my guess is that the big compelling reason (not the ONE but the ONLY) is quite simply that there is no other rational remedy.
The migrants are here and if they want to stay they must register. If they don't choose to register then they will be sent home and arrested if they ever come back...and incarcerated. If you deny them the opportunity they will continue to flaunt the law. What is so hard to understand about that fact?
No, I hate faux conservatives like you.
Not conservatives who put their country's well being before their narrow minded brown shirt vision of what the world should be like.
Protest all you want; use all the fancy words and ill-informed facts you need, but you'll never convince anybody the reason the GOP lost this time was because most of you did your best to suppress the vote.
