Congress Open to Passing Bill on Immigration (Citizenship for 20 million illegals!)
The Washington Times ^ | December 4, 2006 | Charles Hurt

Posted on 12/04/2006 6:58:29 AM PST by kellynla

Congress will approve an immigration bill that will grant citizenship rights to most of the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens in the U.S. after Democrats take control next month, predict both sides on Capitol Hill. While Republicans have been largely splintered on the issue of immigration reform, Democrats have been fairly unified behind the principle that the illegals currently in the country should get citizenship rights without having to first leave the country.

Blah blah blah blah

Nobody pays a damn bit of attention to you, RM.

You're in agony and distress, and total denial to boot. I enjoy seeing you suffer.

Finally showing your true colors for all to see.

And, BTW, I'm not in agnoy at all; in fact, I'm enjoying see you and your ilk trying to justify the damage you and you alone have just done to this country by blaming it on Bush.

As Mo1 said, Bush wasn't running; if you couldn't put your selfishness and hatred aside for the better of the country, to hell with you.

You're reduced to the lowest common denominator: a Bush hater; how pathetic for you.

Doesn't matter, but I'd argue for ANYTHING but granting them a pathway to citizenship. ANYTHING at all is better than that.

HOW DO YOU PLAN ON STOPPING THE DEMOCRATS WITHOUT THE REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS TO BLOCK THEM????

Don't play much football, huh??

You're dead right. The Peolosi-Bush amnesty will usher in some very big changes to our voter pool. Not just from the 20 million new citizens but from the 20,40, 60? million extended family members they'll be legally entitled to bring in. Not to mention the "temporary: workers coming in, along with more border and visa jumpers convinced, with reason, that's there's no consequence to breaking US immig. laws.

Permanently killing off what's left of conservatism will be only the first step in the radical transformation of our homeland this massive demographic shift will usher in.

"Nope .. they only plan I've seen from them was to get republicans out"

____________________________________________________________

Any plan that does not include pathway to citizenship is fine by me. If we REALLY need 20+ million strawberry pickers and dishwashers.... then by all means... bring them in by plane, bus, boat, truck... DRAG them all in and give them each a "guest worker" job.
Fine.

Just no citizenship or pathway to citizenship.

I'm amazed that some pin heads here can not make the distinction between guest worker program and GWB's plan to make them eligible for citizenship. But, I guess that's just all part of the idolatry and denial.

Go take a hike.

>>>>>True. The GOP lost, but Bush didn't lose. He's always wanted the Illegals to have an earned path to citizenship and now he's closer to that goal.
I guess he's the one who's happy now...

Not on immigration. You're right. Bush won.

Back in February I called the Bush Presidency, the Jekyll and Hyde Presidency. Bush gave us tax cuts, apparently good SCOTUS choices and a tough foreign policy after 9-11. But that doesn't balance the books when it comes to Bush`s liberal spending habits, his expansion of the federal bureaucarcy and welfare state entitlements, and of course, his promotion of liberal immigration policy and amnesty for 15 million illegals.

A mixed legacy, at best.

Reading is not your strong point. Try it a little slower next time. I would vote for absolutely ANY combo of border security / guest worker program or combination there of that does NOT include pathway to citizenship. This unfortunately would not include GWB's plan

C'mon, I'm waiting for that ONE big compelling reason you have that makes it favorable to grant a pathway to citizenship to all illegals!

tick, tock, tick, tock

ping me when you get a clue, ok?

What was needed, was for the President to have a serious man to man chat with Fox, that America has grave concerns about terrorism and that this country could no longer carry the burden of his country.. that Fox had to stem the tide of illegals trespassing into our Country or we would.. one way or another.. that it was his sworn duty as President of the United States to protect Americans.. not Mexicans. But of course, GWB would have to have wanted to do that.

There is no will of the people anymore....I was watching THE MAGNIFICENT YANKEE this morning, the great movie about Oliver Wendell Holmes...the ending made me cry. He was over 90 years old and FDR came to his home to visit. When asked how he would receive the President, Holmes said, "although I am a Republican and he a Democrat, I will tell my Commander in Chief that we are at War, and that he must FIGHT LIKE HELL!

It will be a lesson that will last for generations. They will not be loyal to the democratic party either. The only party they are a member of is la rasa.

You can't read. I am against ONE aspect and ONE only.
a "pathway to citizenship" (Amnesty)..ANYTHING else I'm game for. Anything.

And what was your reason WHY GWB's plan to grant a pathway to citizenship to illegals is such a FANTASTIC idea for the future of the Republican party?

I've read your posts over and over again and I fail to see where you've addressed that question that I've posed to you three times now.

I hate seeing old friends fight over this..just damn!

Someone asked about a "plan"..

My "plan" would be for President Bush to unite the Republican Party by announcing that he is solidly behind funding a Border Wall and has reconsidered his views wrt "earned path to citizenship". IOW's, what's the rush?

Our elected officials need to step back...take a deep breath and when in doubt "do nothing"..which will cause LaRaza and the Latino movement great pain..but what the hell?!

You saw it this morning? I cried at the end of that movie...not for Holmes, but for all the people who gave their lives so we could live in freedom...and we're on the verge of throwing it all away. Maybe the great experiment wasn't so great after all. Maybe survival of the fittest isn't the smartest, or the healthiest...but those willing to do anything for what they believe in...and that's just not us anymore...it's them.
