TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Commander of the Iranian army's naval force reported of the might and preparedness of the navy for engaging in a war of attrition and striking blows at the enemy's key vulnerable points.
Commander of the navy of the army of the Islamic Republic of Iran Admiral Sajjad Kouchaki who was addressing the enthusiastic host of worshippers in the course of Tehran's Friday prayers today on the occasion of the navy day, referred to the US objective behind stationing its troops in the Persian Gulf region and raising Iran's nuclear activities as an excuse and added that the Americans consider no boundaries for their greed and demands and that they should be aware of the fact that they will certainly experience a strategic surprise in this region.
Commander of the navy of the army of the Islamic Republic of Iran further referred to the recent victory of the Lebanese Hezbollah and expressed the hope that in their analyses of affairs the Americans will consider the recent resistance shown by the Lebanese Hezbollah in order for them to realize what has taken place in the defensive literature of the Middle East, the Shiites in particular.
He further added that the presence of the occupiers and invaders in the region not only has turned the security atmosphere of the Persian Gulf into a challenge rather the illegitimate presence of the occupiers has faced the regional security with a serious crisis.
Kouchaki termed security of the Persian Gulf a key issue for Iran and the entire world adding that the significance of this vital waterway has been integrated into and tied with the independence, sovereignty and values of the Islamic Revolution, therefore any negligence in this regard will entail negative consequences.
Reported to have 3 Kilo Class Submarines in Iran Navy.
I just fear that it will never come to that, and the 'rats will force us to acquiesce without a fight.
Look, there aint a sub in the gulf that we dont have an ID on, and if the word is given, each of them will blow up within minutes of each other.
I think it is natural for people to assume that while the enemy prepares, that our forces are just standing still, but it is a stupid assumption.
Our Navy has stuff you wont even hear about for years. I can tell you this much, it will be a surprise if Iran so much as gets a shot off against our Navy, should we decide to go after them. You have to understand eventually, that the reason there is so much bluster coming out of Iran, is because they hope to dissuade us from attacking them through public sentiment.
When you carry the big stick, you don't have to talk about it to the media. Be clear about this, if the order is given, the U.S. Navy will kick the living shit out of Iran.
Like a few weeks ago they were bragging about their "new" Muslim fighter jet that turned out to be nothing more than an old F-5?
It would be wise to engage them from missile range, BIG missile range.
It would be wise to engage them from 35 - 40 thousand feet with full jamming and zero limitations on targets.
It would be wise to leave them swimming for shore and hoping that the shore is not overly toasty when they get there.
Oh, while we're at it, it would be wise to be sure there were no government entities, agencies, departments, or representatives left to welcome them once they find the shore.
(Yeah, I know, heartless SOB. Vietnam Vet, once was enough.)
Yeah, the "Mother of All Strategic Surprises".
No, we did not lose the 'warfare mentality' in WW2---just some of us lost it, primarily the some of us who fathered some of the kids who asses they kissed by trying to give them everything we never had back in the Depression days---some of us never made the kids work for much so they thought/think they have little or no duty to stand tall for their country when she needs them---thank God some of us did the opposite and raised responsible kids who raised responsible grandkids---you know who I mean, the ones protecting the chickenshit, whining asses of the liberals and other assorted trash in the USA today---if the shoes fit, wear 'em---WW2 combat vet
You actually think those week kneed bunch in the US Congress are actually going to allow us to attack Iran? They will do absolutely everything, and I mean everything to stop Bush from doing anything. They have become the Cut and Run Congress of Amerika. They are cowards and will do nothing. Maybe after another 9-1-1 they will get off their butts for a couple of weeks, but then it will be back to trying to talk to them, make them understand we love them, we want to be their friends, why do you hate us so. That is the mentality of the US Congress, ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ISLE, WHICH IN MY OPINION THERE IS NO ISLE ANYMORE, THEY ARE ALL LAME, and COWARDS!
Roger that.
Roger that.
"Iranian seaman"
Heh, heh. He said "seaman."
Aw fer cryn' out loud Jim!
Couldn't ya find anything bigger?
:)
Perhaps. But I heard this in 91 against Iraq, then again with afghanistan only to hear it once more with Iraq again. I think we would wipe the floor with them. That said god forbid they do sink a U.S. warship. I could only imagine how the msm would handle it.
My guess is that, in a battle with the U.S., those Iranian seamen will turn out to be extraordinarily impotent.
Agreed. Suicide boats would still have to get close to one of our ships to do any damage, and I don't think the Navy will let that happen - with airborne choppers and CAP maintaining a seriously-enforced exclusion zone around all naval assets.
The missiles are another story. From what I understand, the Iranians can line the coast facing the very narrow strait of Hormuz with several dozen of these well-hidden missiles, which can be momentarily exposed long enough to fire off a missile at a big fat tanker lumbering through the 2-mile shipping channel - blocking this vital passageway. The Navy may have an answer to this threat, but I don't know what it might be.
Xacly.
