Jumblatt is pro-government and anti-Syrian; he may be murdered next. He was once very anti-American, but soon after we toppled Saddam he was happy that we'd started a new dynamic toward democracy and that Syria was being pressured to leave.

That clown running Lebanon is a day late and a dollar short.

Besides, the UN will do nothing to help. They never do. UNIFIL has probably already bailed out on them or are packing as we speak. If the Lebanese had two brain cells to rub together, they'd ally with Israel and the U.S.. But they'd rather fall to siege than stand, and we've known that for some time now.

Does anybody know how many carrier groups we have in the gulf now?

Syria and her pimp, Iran, are salivating at the prospect of digesting Lebanon. However, it's like a python trying to digest a bowling ball. It's guaranteed to cause excessive digestive difficulties.

I agree as to the first part of your statement, but I'm not sure of the second part. Bush was severely crippled by the election, in terms of foreign policy. There will be no strike at Iran unless he moves right now, and he won't.

It was just a question of time, don't you think? Lebanon is weak and ripe for the picking. Ajmadinnerjacket has been emboldened by several things, not the least of which was our election. The war the hezzies took to Israel was a test run of our political willingness to become further enmeshed in the hostilities. Think back at the way the worldwide media bashed Israel for trying to defend herself. How did we respond?

The propaganda machine has taken a very heavy toll.

And with the domestic press banging on about Iraq constantly, and now the release of the ISG report giving them yet more fodder, I don't foresee Bush stepping up with any further military drive in the region unless and until they're on our doorstep. I hope to wrong.

I sadly have to agree with you there. Further, I fear Israel was neutered in the summer war with Hezbollah, making it difficult for them to act as well.

I hope that the President will deal with Iran very soon. We need a massive Air Campaign for few weeks against Iran in order to break them. No need for land invasion. Once Iran is broken, Syria will learn to stop messing around.

Hizballah terrorist group believes that they can win this civil war rather quickly because they are the only armed group in Lebanon and because they have Syria next door supporting them with weapons and fighters, and of course with the great support and financing of Iran.

Lebanon is now the third front of the war on terror.

Iran must be broken, we have no other choice.

Absolutely, dead on.

They're pushing too hard jveritas. They're convinced they won the war with Israel but nothing could be further fromt he truth. Nasrallah is going to get a lot of Shiia killed.

Agree. The other Lebanese factions will not stand idle and get slaughtered by Hizballah terrorists, they will get weapons, and fight back. Getting weapons in Lebanon is very easy.
