Anonymous Pulitzer Photographer Identified After 27 Years (Iranian photo of Kurd executions)
WallSt.Journal ^ | Josh Prager

Posted on 12/03/2006 7:00:25 AM PST by nuconvert

Iranian photographer Jahangir Razmi, took 70 pictures of an execution in Kurdistan on Aug. 27, 1979. One picture (No. 20, below) won the Pulitzer Prize. It was, however, awarded to an unnamed photographer -- the only anonymous recipient in the 90-year history of the award. Mr. Razmi preserved 27 of the photos on a contact sheet and stowed it away in his home. Below are those photos -- made public for the first time.

Thanks. Every time I tried to post the pic I got the red x.
I thought it was something to do with FR's agreement with WSJ or something.

"According to the article he lives in Iran."

I was afraid of that. I wish him good luck then.
I don't have a subscription, so couldn't read the article.

At the end of the linked video clip, the reporter who uncovered the photographer said he "hopes" and "trusts" that there will be no reprecussions for the photographer. Good luck, indeed.

"The religion of peace- fearlessly spreading their agenda at the end of a gun."

The Kurds killed were muslim. Khomeinism originated in Iran 27 yrs ago and they were "spreading their agenda at the end of a gun" the same as the communists.

It's a mistake to lump all muslims under one banner.

Yes, I heard. That's what made me think that Mr. Razmi was still in Iran. Maybe he believes he's been loyal to the regime and he's old and they won't do anything to him now.
Sometimes going public can save your life, due to the publicity you receive. Sometimes it can cause you to have an accident.
