Until June, the (Seattle) school district's Web site declared that "cultural racism'' includes "emphasizing individualism as opposed to a more collective ideology,'' "having a future time orientation'' (planning ahead) and "defining one form of English as standard.'' The site also asserted that only whites can be racists, and disparaged assimilation as the "giving up'' of one's culture. After this propaganda provoked outrage, the district, saying it needed to "provide more context to readers'' about "institutional racism,'' put up a page saying that the district's intention is to avoid "unsuccessful concepts such as a melting pot or colorblind mentality.''
The Supreme Court has said that all racial classifications by government are "presumptively invalid'' unless narrowly tailored to serve a compelling government interest. The district's repellent Web site revealed the interest that the district considers so compelling that it justifies racial preferences. Supreme Court deference to such race-mongering would make a mockery of the equal protection guarantee.

Because certain, historically disadvantaged groups do not plan for the future, it is deemed "racist" for certain historically advantaged groups to do so, never mind that the lack of "future orientation" plays no small role in any historical disadvantage. Planning for the future exacerbates the comparative disadvantage, and increases the "gap." We must all be equally stupid and dependent, is what it all boils down to, in the end.
The purveyors of racism calling those that refuse to conform to the defined thinking of the enlightened educators. Once again the intolerance of the PC sniveling liberals attemting to quell free thinking and free speech. I hope these tyrants receive their just reward.

Well said, but "historically advantaged" is another PC concept that doesn't bear close inspection.

��Of course "h��������istorically advantaged" is PC nonsense, but it's very difficult to convey the meaning and intent of such catchphrases without delving even further into PC nonsense as explanation. I guess I should have put it in quotes to indicate deep skepticism of the concept.
How successful has the concept of hyphenating America been? Has racial conflict declined? Ask Rodney King. Ask the white girls in Long Beach. Ask Amadou Diallo. Ask the millions of whites who are victimized every day by black thieves, burglars, drug dealers, muggers, and rapists. Or ask the millions of blacks who are victimized every day by black thieves, burglars, drug dealers, muggers, and rapists.
By the way, isn't the "melting pot" just street slang for "integration?" You remember integration: it was the panacea for all race problems a couple of decades ago. Now, the same faction that stuffed that debacle up our collective wazoo is waving it off as ineffective or counterproductive.
We can't afford to let the Left continue to experiment with our lives and those of our children, only to come to the same conclusion we held two generations ago. Let them chase their own tails, but not on our dime.

Until these sad views are marginalized I will fight to wake black people up. Wake them up from their mourning about slavery, jim crow, segregation and then discrimination. I will try to show black people the the value of perspective and how they are not the sole victims throughtout history and how the world does not revolve around their suffering her in the U.S in past times.
Few things Blacks need to do...
Stop beig so weak and start building strong communities again like in the days of segregation when they needed to be.
Stop being so separatist, MLK advicated a sort of ingreation with the white society in order to work together for the betterment of everyone. I don't think the leaders now measure up to MLK, yet they claim him all day long.
Start creating studious people at a cultural scale, people that want to master Science and "hard subjects" not Criminal Justice or Sports related degrees. No excommunicating the one's that are nerds. Nerds are important.
Stop blaming "whitey".
Start having a independent why of thinking instead of emulating rap culture. Stop voting Democrates because the Dems really do respect you.
