WASHINGTON (Dec. 1) -- When radio host Jerry Klein suggested that all Muslims in the United States should be identified with a crescent-shape tattoo or a distinctive arm band, the phone lines jammed instantly.
The first caller to the station in Washington said that Klein must be "off his rocker." The second congratulated him and added: "Not only do you tattoo them in the middle of their forehead but you ship them out of this country ... they are here to kill us."
Another said that tattoos, armbands and other identifying markers such as crescent marks on driver's licenses, passports and birth certificates did not go far enough. "What good is identifying them?" he asked. "You have to set up encampments like during World War Two with the Japanese and Germans."
At the end of the one-hour show, rich with arguments on why visual identification of "the threat in our midst" would alleviate the public's fears, Klein revealed that he had staged a hoax. It drew out reactions that are not uncommon in post-9/11 America.
"I can't believe any of you are sick enough to have agreed for one second with anything I said," he told his audience on the AM station 630 WMAL (http://www.wmal.com/), which covers Washington, Northern Virginia and Maryland

I agree there will be, but I try to look on the bright side. Any physical attack coming from the psycho islamofascists will be on a big city. Big cities are the dwell of the left.
And immediately after September 11, a bus was hijacked by a Muslim and if I remember right, he sliced the throat of the driver, and that was in Kansas, right?
YUP, somewhere in middle America.
How's that for intolerance?
Every immigrant to our nation, from the Irish, to the Eastern Europeans, to the Catholics and Jews, to the Chinese and Japanese, to the vietnamese, have all faced racial hatred, yet they overcame it. Why? Because we as a country we ask these new immigrants to prove themselves to be Americans first. It wasn't just a loving change of heart that we as Americans accepted people of other races and countries, it was because they PROVED themselves. The Nisei and Issei proved themselves in World War II with their actions in the 442nd Battalion....you think anyone will ever suspect Japanese-Americans of being disloyal to our nation after that?
Yet, the Muslims are expecting us to accept them at face value without proving themselves to be Americans first. We had the same suspicions when there was heavy Jewish and Catholic immigration to our nation. Yet they proved themselves to be great Americans and, as a reward, they are allowed to worship freer than they would have if they stayed in their home country. The Muslims in our nation need to understand that. Until they can prove they love America more than they love some twisted ideology that is dedicated to destroying America, they'll always be suspected. As long as Muslims here in America are upset about 9/11 ONLY because they're afraid of how badly they'll be treated, instead of strongly condemning the terrorists who performed this despicable act, they'll never get the acceptance they so dearly want.
Like all immigrants to our country, Muslims need to show that they can add to our nation. You can talk about Civil Rights until you're blue in the face, but until you can show you belong here, you'll be suspect. Here in the South, Sam "Bam" Cunningham, FB for USC who ripped through Alabama in 1970, did more for Civil Rights in 3 hours than Martin Luther King did in 15 years. Why? Because it showed Southerners how stupid the "racial superiority" garbage was and accepting African-Americans as equals has its benefits.
Every Muslim-American needs to ask himself, "What am I doing to prove myself to be a good American?" If they're not, and wishing a Caliphate on our great nation, they need to go back to where their ancestors came from.
I agree there will be, but I try to look on the bright side. Any physical attack coming from the psycho islamofascists will be on a big city. Big cities are the dwell of the left
You believe that to be a bright side? The death of American citizens is good because they hold different political views is a good thing in your book?
Yes, all he did was attack Americans and America.
I despise his ilk. I hope his shows goes the way of Airhead America.
Jordan, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon. And on and on.
They're not all evil. No matter what country. The two worst as far as the leadership indoctrinating their citizens to the evil side are Saudi Arabia and Iran. And there are evil ones in every country, including our own.
Their "religion" is screwed up big time. But you'd be surprised as to how many who are born Muslim don't buy into that crap. Most do not attend the mosques, most live relatively secular lives and most despise the terrorists as much as we do.
Guadalcanal was not very far at all from a "trust" given to Japan by the League of Nations after WWI when, lo and behold, they'd been our firm ally!
Of course, we, too had some claims on coaling stations (Guam) and the Philippines.
Question, aren't the Philippine Islands closer to Washington DC than to San Francisco?
Not that I'm making fun of the "they could have invaded California" argument, but I am! Bwahahahahahaha!!!!!
That was your inference, not my statement. You're pulling that media trick, but I'm much to savvy about their tactics.
As to your last remark, you just crossed the "jerk" threshold, making intelligent discourse with you far too labor-intensive for one as busy as I am.
As a result, I have nothing further to say to you.
No, it was a joke. But actually, ridding ourselves of the left would be beneficial to the country. The left does more than just hold a political view. They are destroying this country from the inside out.
Although I would be happy to see the left removed from this country (not through an attack - more like by TWA), I do not like the idea or the appearance of the muzzies executing a successful attack on us.
A Sikh was murdered in Great Britain a while back too. I don't think a radio show set up is a reflection of the way Americans feel. There is no excuse for murder. I DO think we are very afraid of these people and that fear is totally justified. People talk tough because it helps them vent frustration. Remember we have Muslim groups out using our laws and trying to force their ways on our people. Resentment is only normal and it is hard for people to pretend they don't feel it. It would be nice if many Muslims in America would come out and act like Americans to show solidarity with America instead of silence which leads us to believe they are in it with the Islamonuts.
Okay.
But remember, America was always a political brawl. Going back to our Constitutional convention, the U.S. was always in conflict with itself in a battle of ideas. In many ways, we're still fighting Jefferson and Hamilton's battle to decide what kind of country we'll be.
"Question, aren't the Philippine Islands closer to Washington DC than to San Francisco?"
Umm, No. ????
you might want to take Lebanon off that list....
Gee, you'd think some muslimes had attacked us a few years back with this reaction.
Oh wait, they did. I don't see what good they are doing for America, as they are doing such a great job in the middle eastern countries. < /sarcasm>
Why? I know lots of peaceful Lebanese Muslims who don't care what a person's religion is. In fact, the Lebanese tend to be party animals.
You asked which countries have peaceful Muslims who aren't bent on killing people for their religion. All of them do.
Why not? Latino is?? LOL
