Terri's Story
Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation ^ | December 3,2006 | Schindler Foundation

Posted on 12/03/2006 3:03:26 AM PST by 8mmMauser

Theresa Marie Schindler was born to Robert and Mary Schindler on December 3, 1963. She was the first of three children the Schindlers would have.

Terri was a shy, but comical, child who had an affinity for music, animals and the arts. She kept a small circle of friends and was dear to schoolmates, neighboring families and her own extended family.

Following high school, Terri came into her own. She developed a knack for sketching and doodling. She enjoyed outings with her friends. She was an adoptive mother to the family’s dog, Bucky.

Terri attended Catholic School while growing up and remained close to her faith throughout her life.

In 1983, Terri met Michael Schiavo at Bucks County Community College and the two began dating. He was the first romantic interest Terri had.

The couple was engaged within a few months and married a year later at Terri’s church in Southampton, Pa. She was 21.

In 1986, Terri and Michael relocated to Pinellas County, Florida and her parents followed three months later.

In 1990, at the age of 26, Terri suffered a mysterious cardio-respiratory arrest for which no cause has ever been determined. She was diagnosed with hypoxic encephalopathy – neurological injury caused by lack of oxygen to the brain. Terri was placed on a ventilator, but was soon able to breathe on her own and maintain vital function. She remained in a severely compromised neurological state and was provided a PEG tube to ensure the safe delivery of nourishment and hydration.

On March 31, 2005, Terri Schindler Schiavo died of marked dehydration following more than 13 days without nutrition or hydration under the order of Circuit Court Judge, George W. Greer of the Pinellas-Pasco’s Sixth Judicial Court. Terri was 41.

>> How do you think you could improve this cartoon t'wit?

I'd hate to criticize a cartoon expressing a worthy view.

But perhaps, with apologies to the cartoonist, we could try a few captions to fit his very funny caricature of Michael. By "caption," I mean the big bubble in the middle ("It's not just a woman's right to choose anymore!").

One that comes to mind immediately is, "I KEPT MY PROMISE!"

Let me think about it :-)

You are baffled, I'll give you that. Michael lived with the Schindlers.

Charlie Fist is planning a really big bash for the inauguration. At the tune of half a million dollars! He's not worth that much partying. Pity the bamboozled Floridians who voted Charlie Fist or Charlie First for governor. He's going to make Florida even more expensive.

Bamboozled by a simpleton who has wealthy friends. The next four years will be both frightening and entertaining as the figurehead does more coverups and delegates EVERYTHING because he's too stupid to think for himself. But, he's really good at begging for handouts. The beggar governor. Alms for the rich, alms for the rich.

Bushnell introduced Mikey to Felos. How could a woman be so cold as to set up another woman to be killed? If you saw Bushnell in person, you could see the cold, steely determination in her eyes. She's a serial lawyer to be sure.

It gets harder and harder to breathe too. Terri could breathe on her own WHICH THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA NEVER MENTIONED. (the proverbial hooked up to machines sufficed for their purposes). It gets harder and harder not having any nutrition or hydration for almost two weeks.

She did recommend that the Schindlers should be notified before they killed Terri. To balance that seemingly kind jester of hers, (cough) she relished telling them that Terri had 5 teeth pulled during the Shindlers no visitation period which she helped initiate. Ilse Koch comes to mind.

I like it, FV! You have a knack for campaign slogans :-)

What do you think of my slogan for Hillary?

"VOTE FOR HILLARY -- OR SHE WON'T BRING BACK THE WHITE HOUSE SILVERWARE."

Unfortunately, Terri was propagandized as a vegetable. Don't agonize however, they did water the flowers in her room when they dehydrated her.

The story that got around -- which I cannot prove, so take it as speculation only -- is that Ms. Bushnell was the author of the policy to deny all comfort and stimulation to Terri. That is, to let her waste away. That way, she'd never improve and would flunk any future med test (swallowing tests, e.g.). And surely she would die sooner. If you can't kill 'em one way, kill 'em another, eh?

Michael Schiavo no doubt gave his enthusiastic approval of these policies. What kind of blinders do the visitors wear if they cannot feel the palpable hatred toward Terri? But they go on croaking their chorus that Michael was a loving husband. Right, and Ilse Koch was a tanner and soapmaker.

Terri was never allowed to out in the sunlight for the last five years of her life. She couldn't even look out the window. God said, "Let there be light." But Michael Schiavo warehoused his injured wife in a dark comfortless room. There are no words for this kind of cruelty.

It's terrifying. It sets the dogs a-howlin' and makes the babies cry. Be sure to wear garlic and carry a wooden stake -- you may meet a Serial Lawyer on the sidewalk.

I think she was just an enthusiastic supporter. I mean what year did she get involved?

At first I thought that that might be an actual human gesture. Then it dawned that it was just legal CYA stuff. There was no kindness toward the Schindlers involved. Perhaps she also feared liability in a wrongful death suit.

1995? She was in before Felos. She was raiding Terri's trust fund before Felos got aboard!

I did too. It now appears to be the opposite by what she did latter.

1995?

If that is so, Michael still was ahead of her.
