Theresa Marie Schindler was born to Robert and Mary Schindler on December 3, 1963. She was the first of three children the Schindlers would have.
Terri was a shy, but comical, child who had an affinity for music, animals and the arts. She kept a small circle of friends and was dear to schoolmates, neighboring families and her own extended family.
Following high school, Terri came into her own. She developed a knack for sketching and doodling. She enjoyed outings with her friends. She was an adoptive mother to the familys dog, Bucky.
Terri attended Catholic School while growing up and remained close to her faith throughout her life.
In 1983, Terri met Michael Schiavo at Bucks County Community College and the two began dating. He was the first romantic interest Terri had.
The couple was engaged within a few months and married a year later at Terris church in Southampton, Pa. She was 21.
In 1986, Terri and Michael relocated to Pinellas County, Florida and her parents followed three months later.
In 1990, at the age of 26, Terri suffered a mysterious cardio-respiratory arrest for which no cause has ever been determined. She was diagnosed with hypoxic encephalopathy neurological injury caused by lack of oxygen to the brain. Terri was placed on a ventilator, but was soon able to breathe on her own and maintain vital function. She remained in a severely compromised neurological state and was provided a PEG tube to ensure the safe delivery of nourishment and hydration.
On March 31, 2005, Terri Schindler Schiavo died of marked dehydration following more than 13 days without nutrition or hydration under the order of Circuit Court Judge, George W. Greer of the Pinellas-Pascos Sixth Judicial Court. Terri was 41.
Well , you can look on the bright side as well, it may be a tad chilly around the nation... but there are still a few places left that you can go fly a kite!
That's enough of your thread-highjacking. And enough libel about the Schindlers, too. Kindly desist.
LOL. That's pretty good.
Then you ought to compliment the person who said it, not me :-)
Ooops. The kite thing was good. I'll give it a try.
Bonzer
Total baloney. No one is going to cover up a murder because of any belief in euthanasia.
But this is a perfect example of the delusionary thinking driving Terrinauts.
Why investigate when jumpting to absurd conclusions is so much easier? Michael killed her. Police investigators covered up the crime. Doctors help kill her. Judges helped kill her. Governors helped kill her. There was a huge interglactic conspiracy which helped kill her.
You guys have ALL the answers. Investigations are futile.
"... explain to me, please, how a healthy young woman, almost certainly asleep, ended up on the hallway floor, face down, in cardiac arrest and nearly dead, shortly after Michael came home late that Saturday night?
"Your answer has to fit all medical findings including Terri's ER blood testing and the bone scan. Give yourself a bonus if you can explain where and why Michael lied to the police who responded to 911."
You also were going to tell me, quote, "who actually investigated" Terri's injury, and give me their report?
I wish we did. The only witness is also the only suspect, and he is far from truthful. Nevertheless, the investigation is ongoing and we do find new pieces of the puzzle now and then. I hope you will join the effort? We'd be glad to get any new facts, or any theories you may have that fit the facts that are already known.
The police treated Terri's case as they do other cases. There was no evidence of foul play hence no intensive investigation. People are felled for unknown reasons quite frequently. And they are almost never murdered.
I doubt that Michael "lied" to the police at all. His story may have changed as he considered things or he could have not been accurate initially given the stress of the event. But neither of those involve "lying".
I doubt there are any new "facts" to be found. New assumptions, new nonsense do not count as fact.
This is a dead issue except to those obsessed with it.
I have a feeling that this reaction is exactly the style that Hitler was hoping for. "It's JUST THE JEWS, why obsess over it?"
"I have a feeling that this reaction is exactly the style that Hitler was hoping for. 'It's JUST THE JEWS, why obsess over it?'"
Oh, Lord. What next?
Perhaps you are not aware that Hitler WANTED people to think of the Jews. He wanted them to be hated. He wanted the Germans to think of them as sub-human. No one is saying that about Terri. No one relishes her death. No one is happy that she could not be returned to her life.
Hundreds of cases like Terri exist at any moment. They cannot be saved and those who understand that autonomous reflexes are not life for a human don't pretend there is anything left to save.
He told them all was sweetness and light between him and Terri on the very day they had had a huge brawl. That is not the confusion of the moment. That is a lie.
Think about that. Why would he deny they were fighting?
No they just wanted everyone to think that Terri was "brain dead" even when she clearly wasn't.
They wanted to convince everyone that food and water was "life support" even though we all need it. They even went to court to prevent her from being given a CRUMB of a Communion wafer and a DROP of Communion wine.
They wanted everyone to think that Michael Schiavo was a "loving husband" even though he had children with another woman while he was married to Terri.
I could go on and on about what they Culture of Death wanted everyone to THINK about Terri.
What new assumptions? What new nonsense? Vague dismissals with no factual basis serve no purpose.
On the contrary, it was a landmark legal decision, it was a kind of treason to American ideals, and it was a terrible injustice. People will remember Terri Schiavo's story for all three of those reasons until America passes from this earth.
We still talk about Cain murdering Abel. Injustice is never forgotten.
Hundreds of cases like Terri exist at any moment. They cannot be saved and those who understand that autonomous reflexes are not life for a human don't pretend there is anything left to save.
YOUR WORDS
They exist at any moment, huh. Miracles happen. People with your attitude place themselves as a judge and deny someone else the chance for a miracle. Who are you to be her judge? Nothing in it for you, but the same cannot be said for Schaivo. If you did not relish her death there would be no need for you to keep posting on this thread. Maybe you like it that she is dead, most people here do not. Terri most definitely cannot be returned to her life now, thanks to the Death Nazis, who pick and choose who has a life that they think is worthy or not worthy. Oh, and by the way, I think Terri was saved. Hope the same for you!
There was a nearly lifeless body face down on the floor. That would be evidence of foul play, wouldn't you think?
Terri's bloodwork showed two different tests indicative of violence but no natural cause for her injuries. That is strong evidence of foul play. But the two policemen closed their report in one hour and never even checked with the ER for a medical report on Terri.
>> People are felled for unknown reasons quite frequently.
Not if investigators, medical facilities and coroners make an effort to find what happened.
>> And they are almost never murdered.
Where do you get this stuff? The leading causes of death and injury to young women are 1) domestic violence, and 2) auto wrecks [only a nudge behind]. No other cause comes even close.
It is because violence is the leading cause of death to young women that it has to be eliminated as a possibility before you even think of looking elsewhere (Occam's razor). It certainly was not eliminated in Terri's case. Don't forget her abnormal blood tests, and don't forget that her bone scan was positive for multiple traumas.
