If you have seen the recent appearance by Danny DeVito on "The View" (available on YouTube at the link and here), you may feel as revolted not only by his disgusting and obscene references to President Bush, but also by his frequently-bleeped description of having wild sex in the Lincoln bedroom during the Clinton administration.
While the media excoriate Michael Richards for calling disgraceful-but-generic names at hecklers, DeVito gets a pass from The View and from the media for his vile spew directed at our national leader.
His vulgarity oversprays onto all those who believe that the office of the presidency should be respected, especially in wartime; and that historic reverence should attach to the Lincoln bedroom in the White House, the room where Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
It's not enough to post our disgust on a forum where we are preaching to the choir; we can also let persons who can influence DeVito know about it: DeVito's manager Stan Rosenfield, the ABC network and its affiliates, ABC's corporate owners (the Walt Disney company), and David Manero, DeVito's business partner in his soon-to-open Florida restaurant.
Most of the movies today are awful.
"Short, fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, Son..."
Yep, I'm not buying the "drunk" rationale at all.
At all.
Whereas you stereotyping people due to their inherited characteristics is perfectly rational. /s
oh please,
he's an entertainer, seriously...............
No one cares what he says, and no one watches the view any way.
for now on....whatever show this troll is in....I am not watching!!!!!
Okay, I won't really say say we should roast him in front of a mosque.
Maybe Coop is right. Lots of jaws flapping here, but I haven't heard but one of you indicate you might write a letter to the ABC or Disney higher-ups. All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.
You are right. I have contacted Fox before when offended.I just never watch ABC or The View. I have seen clips and you are right. He was on Fox and Friends earlier that morning and he was okay. Funny when they get in a forum they are comfortable with their true colors emerge! I guess I will say something!
Unfortunately, Danny did not have a choice!
There is always an exception.
Awesome!
AW--thanks for the ping and the contact info. Here's my email to Barbara Walters:
Ms. Walters,
I have welcomed you into my living room via TV over the years, watching your interviews with many interesting people.
But after watching the appearance of Danny DeVito on the View last week, you or the View are no longer welcome in my home.
It was the height of irresponsibility to let Danny DeVito appear on your show while he was obviously inebriated. But it was doubly insulting to hear and see him use such vile and slanderous words and antics against the President of the United States, while we are in a time of war.
Don't think for one minute that this clip will not be played ad infitum on the Arab TV networks--it was wonderfully embarrassing to the President and this country.
But what really got me was that no one, including you, had enough sense to end the farce before it got going. You, being the eldest and most experienced one on the set, should have known better. Even his comments on his romp in the White House bedroom, a room that belongs to all of us, was so vulgar and crass that it elicited no rebuke from anyone on the View. I would think it a high honor and privilege to be allowed to sleep one night in the White House, not treat it like Motel Six.
As for Mr. DeVito, he owes an apology not to you or the view, but to the President and to the nation.
But as for you, you did all of us a disservice by your lack of courage and decorum. The View has spiralled downhill, and the appearance of Mr. DeVito and his drunken ranting is more proof of that.
Sincerely,
(exit82)
Are we not men? We are Devito!
Your letter is tremendous. I hope Barbara Walters is not too jaded to appreciate how low DeVito's stunts made her look. Thank you for sharing that.
The opening on SNL tonight was vile.
True. I'm speaking with my wallet, though. :D Maybe his next film will be "Shut up and act!" THen we'll know he's desperate.
