Slowly but surely the drumbeat of Liberal values is beginning to permeate the debate about the Iraq War. Already, enough of the Iraq Study Group's report has been leaked that it's official release on Wednesday will be a non-event. We can conclude by what has come out so far that it is a document of surrender and appeasement. It claims to be bi-partisan but it is clear that there have been disagreements and compromises that have been reached in its creation. Liberals appear to have won the arguments as they try to hide behind James Baker's stature as a former Secretary of State for Bush senior.

The details appear to be all troops out by January 2008 (surrender) and lets talk to Iran and Syria to help us (appeasement). Why does anyone think that 2 of our biggest enemies in the region would want to help us, when they have been actively undermining our effort since it started? On this occasion we would be talking from a position of weakness. A self-imposed position of weakness at that. This situation has pushed the Pentagon into a debate of it's own which has resulted in the recent "go big, go long or go home" discussions which were leaked last week. The Pentagon clearly wants to try and pre-empt the Study Group and not appear to be playing catch-up. Who would have thought just a few months ago that the Pentagon would even consider a "go home" option? This is a good example of how Liberal values are dictating the debate about Iraq. The underlying drive, however, is to look like one is for change. Liberals have pounded home the theme that the public voted for them to take over Congress because of a desire for change in Iraq. So now everyone is running around trying to look like that's what they are going to provide.

But Liberal values have permeated the war from the beginning and Bush has tried to fight a politically correct war to try and keep the Liberals happy. It has backfired in a big way. Allowing embedded reporters to travel with the troops was a big mistake and resulted in our troops having to provide protection to Liberal hacks who were playing "gotcha" whilst looking over the shoulders of our boys at the front line. We have made tactical mistakes to try and keep Liberals happy, such as not attacking Mosques even when we were being fired upon from them, and scaling back operations during Ramadan to avoid upsetting the Muslims. This is a ridiculous theory which is constantly thrown at us by Liberals during many debates about interrogations and the general conduct of the war. It makes no difference whatsoever to how we are viewed by our enemy when we do these things. They cannot hate us any more than they do now. The "Arab street" is always up in arms about something and nothing we do can change that. They see this appeasement as weakness and they do not fear us as they should. They actually count on Liberals to hamper the military in this way and in that respect they are very smart and Liberals are more than happy to play into their hands.

The Liberal calls to talk to our enemies have resulted in 2 major defeats that affected the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan. We had Fallujah surrounded at one point and then called a halt to operations whilst we talked. In Afghanistan we had Tora Bora surrounded with Bin Laden trapped, and we called a halt for talks to take place and he got away. On both occasions we should have crushed them with the same callous disregard that they have shown for civilian casualties. These are people that hide behind female civilians whislt fighting and it should not slow us down one little bit. We then had a chance to crush Al-Sadr and stopped so that we could talk. Again, we should have killed him and crushed his militia.

Iraq's jails are full of insurgents that have been arrested at great cost in the blood of American troops. But the jails should only have common criminals in them, like rapists, robbers and burglars. Insurgents should be interrogated and killed. Who honestly thinks that when we release them as a gesture of goodwill they go back to being honest citizens? Likewise, the Gitmo detainees that Liberals have pressured us into releasing with their constant carping about the rights of our enemies, have shown up again on the battlefield. If we had fought this war the way we should have, making no concessions to appease the sensitivities of our enemy, we would not be in this mess now. If we had fought this war with ruthless efficiency, killing insurgents everywhere we found them, they would actually fear us.

The biggest mistake we made was when we were being pressured to get our allies on board. Who is our biggest friend in the region? Israel. We should have invited them in and fought alongside them. I can hear the Liberals screaming now about how that would enrage that Arab street! In case anyone hadn't noticed, they are already enraged or we wouldn't be there in the first place. Israel and the United States are allies and we behave like it's a secret that the enemy is not aware of. Israel can fight these types of battles better than we can. It is stupid to turn away from them like they don't exist. If that brings other Arab states into it then so be it. It's going to happen one day, lets do it now whilst we have troops over there. Liberals constantly talk about how we are attracting terrorists to Iraq by being there. That's good, because if we were fighting this thing as we should be we could kill more of them over there instead of having to do it over here.

Liberals have repeated the lie that this war has nothing to do with the War on Terror. They could not be more wrong, because in the eyes of our enemy it has everything to do with it. If we surrender now they will see it is a victory in their global war against us and our way of life. It is hard for them to attack us at home with all the security measures that have been taken. It is easier for them to attack Americans in Iraq and so they go there to do that. But that would be a good thing if only we would kill all of them that we encounter. There is no combination of Arab armies in the region, be they national or terrorist, that could defeat an alliance of the United States and Israel. We could end this thing once and for all if we would only unite against them and ruthlessly dispatch the enemy. But Bush would not do it because he wanted Liberal support. Look what that got us.

But it is not too late. We don't even need to send more of our troops. Just change their tactics and stop tying their hands behind their backs and let them fight. We can get more troops by inviting the Israeli's in and there you have it. We could have Al-Sadr and the other militia's on the run within 6 months. We could then confront Iran and Syria from a position of strength and not weakness. Liberals are cowards and we know there is always a limit to how much time, casualties and resources they are prepared to commit to defend us. Our enemy knows this too and Bush needs to be strong and face them down. Liberals have undermined this effort from the beginning with their constant attacks on the President and they have been ably assisted by the Liberal media who have done nothing but try and undermine our troops whilst hiding under their protection. If we do not change our strategy to one of ruthlessness in dealing with the enemy, the terrorists will know that everytime they attack us our response will always be short-lived, because Liberals will make it so, if they respond at all.

We can end this conflict once and for all; the Iraq problem, the Iran problem, the Syria problem, the Palestinian problem, if we unite with Israel and fight together. Make them fear us, let them know we are serious and we are not about to let a bunch of gutless Liberals stop us, and the country will thank us for it. If we withdraw as Liberals want us to do, and we "talk" to Iran and Syria, the future will be gloomy indeed. If we continue to let the UN procrastinate over Iran's nuclear program as the Liberals want us to do, Iran could soon turn into a nuclear power, with influence, if not outright control, over Lebannon and Iraq. Then the lives that would be spent fighting that next war will make this one look like a picnic. All of those lives would be on the Liberal tab.

Sad but true. Unfortunately...and I hope I'm wrong about this...I'm starting to get the feeling that the war is becoming a lost cause. We just don't seem to be willing to do whatever it takes.

If we withdraw as Liberals want us to do, and we "talk" to Iran and Syria, the future will be gloomy indeed.

We will never succeed and win unless we place a higher value on delayed gratification and the possibility of good consequences in the future after winning, compared to a lower value on escape from present discomfort of the war.

You guys really think that a culture that nominates a movie like "Brokeback Mountain" for a best picture award has the capability to really fight this war the way it should be fought?

In the end, there can be only one. A culture of life, or a culture of death. Choose. And act.
