There ARE exceptions to the rule with respect to the political parties. The Democrats have a handful of DINOs. But they are not the ones calling the shots. Its the leftist leadership that rules the roost.

Dick Morris didn't do his homework to the best of abilities: Mike Huckabee is full of his own ethical problems, and he's pro-amnesty for illegal immigrants. Senator Sam Brownback is also pro-amnesty for illegal immigrants, and he lacks charisma. Rep. Duncan Hunter also lacks charisma, and I like him as a Presidential possibility. I would choose Rep. Pence and Jim Gilchrist as two possibilities for the GOP if I thought that they would seriously have a chance. Rep. Tom Tancredo is continuously creating controversy with what he has to say about illegal immigration, and I like him. Rep. Tancredo also has the problem of being assiduously labeled as a "one issue candidate" (illegal immigration only) by the mainstream media, and this will only harm his overall chances. I heard that Rep. Pence is getting rid of his pro-amnesty for illegal immigrants position, but it's also very tough for all of these GOP Presidential candidates who are coming straight from Congress to have any real chances for victory unless they were also Governors at some point in their political careers. The GOP needs to focus on their past and present Governors for their final Presidential pick, and they truly need to make sure that their final pick is a conservative that the majority of the political right will be more than happy to support for the '08 elections. I'm not convinced that the GOP will be successful enough to bring the political momentum back their way in just two years, and I hope that I'm very much "in the wrong" on this!

All of the political actions of the leftist leadership will only show the general public who these individuals really are as both politicians and people. It really will be up to both the GOP minorities in Congress and the President to grow some political spines and then do all that they can do to prevent a socialistic agenda from ever becoming reality. The next Congress should be no more than a "do nothing" Congress, and it will be up to the GOP to be able to get the political momentum to truly go their way again in '08 and beyond.
