Chuck swung by the Daily News for an editorial board meeting this morning, which you'll be able to read more about in tomorrow's News.
A couple of tidbits from his broader discussion (forthcoming in book form) of how he sees the shifting terrain and the Democrats' edge struck me:
"We're in better shape than [Republicans] are, because they don't realize that Reaganomics is dead, that the Reagan philosophy is dead," he said. "We realize that New Deal democracy, which is still our paradigm, which is sort of appeal to each group ... that doesn't work any more."
He had said a bit earlier, "The old Reagan theory which dominated -- which is, 'Government is bad, it's out of touch, chop off its hands as soon as it moves.' -- is over."
Not sure the conservative love affair with Chuck is going to last
LOL!!!
When I was a senior- I had to move to another school- my mom and step-dad split up...My step-sister and her boyfriend weren't allowed to date alone.. so I went along-- and he brought his friend...
well- the friend he brought had graduated the year before and was quite the hottie- football player and heart throb...
hence-- all the sophmore girls HATED me! They were horrific...they would accuse me of being in love with their boyfriends so they had to kick my ass....I would be like- "WHo is Tom?" They would kick, trip, etc...
I had come from an "affluent" neighborhood- but was a total tomboy-- and was now in FARM country with some TOUGH gals....
I was always told I would be KILLED if I got into fights at school...
finally- my step-sister had had enough and told my Dad what was going on...
He told me how to handle it...
So the next day- I was at school- they started their crapt- I picked the BIGGEST one (and she was BIG!) I grabbed the cigarette our of her hand (we were in the parking lot)- I put it out on my hand in front of them all and said- "Name the place and time- I will be there- and my DAD will drive me."
Too funny....most kids were afraid of their parents for getting into fights- and I just announced that not only did I have permission- but my Dad was counting on attending the whole thing...
Never had another problem....but dang-- I still have a scar on my hand from that cigarette.....
oh WOW!!!
LOL!
LOL!
Murtha is the best at cut and running, but his training is all in the wrong direction.
Hitlery would claim the win even if she didn't.
Rosie would call the judges pigaphobes for telling Clay Oinken to get away from them.
You are one tough cookie, EC.
Good ideas!!
SHe LOVES to read!! truly LOVES it....not odd to find her heading outside to play-- and she has a book in her hand...
Married or celebate.
LOL!! OUCH is right!
Eeevil!
Don't be naughty.
Bad Rush, Bad Rush. (I think it would be a good guess that he went overseas if the comment was that he was "safely back.")
actually-- I cannot dish it out--physically speaking...but I can take a LOT of walloppin'....
just not phased by physical pain much at all....
too brave for my own good at times! LOL!
You snooze, you lose! :D
Me? Naughty?
nevah!
My daughter never goes anywhere without a book(7 years old). We have to take the books away at night so she will sleep.
Of course she gets teased a lot at school, and is starting to get in trouble over it. Everyone hates the smart kid.
Problem is she has a motor neuron disorder that affects her physical coordination, so she isn't real good at defending herself. We have her in a special karate class, but it will be awhile before she's able to protect herself.
lol~ sounds like it was worth it tho!
Actually, if he went to meet a woman he found on eHarmony, it could be considered arriving "safely back" if he didn't buy an engagement ring.
This "cigarette" story should be sent to the Chicken Soup people. It's hilarious.
RE: a Coulter/Rush baby might be the Quisats Hatterat. (sp)
Ditto....
When I was about ten, my parents were worried that my reading habit was hurting my eyes. My bedroom was off of the kitchen and after bed time I would read using the light coming under the door. They took me to an eye doctor and asked him what to do; they didn't want my eyes damaged. He told them in amazement to buy me a reading light and let me read. Kudos to your daughter.
To hold listeners longer so that he can charge advertisers even higher more confiscatory rates.
