THAT WAS certainly swift. Washington has a way of quickly acculturating people, especially those who are most susceptible to derangement by the derivative dignity of office. But Jim Webb, Democratic senator-elect from Virginia, has become a pompous poseur and an abuser of the English language before actually becoming a senator.
Wednesday's Washington Post reported that at a White House reception for newly elected members of Congress, Webb "tried to avoid President Bush," refusing to pass through the reception line or have his picture taken with the President. When Bush asked Webb, whose son is a Marine in Iraq, "How's your boy?" Webb replied, "I'd like to get them (sic) out of Iraq." When the President again asked, "How's your boy?" Webb replied, "That's between me and my boy." Webb told the Post

OOOPS. Post #76 was a joke, not post #75 (which is the one you responded to.)
Mr. Moderator, could you delete the post I am responding to?
Does Virginia have recall?
Just damn. How could my state elect this guy?"
Good Question. Perhaps the first answer is to help your election officials clense the voter rolls of the posers and illegals and DEAD people. I understand from my former County Elections Officer that doing that job is the last one on the burner, as they are chronically understaffed, etc. Perhaps you and your local Republicans could set up VOLUNTEERS to help in this respect.
My personal belief is that COLLEGE students are voting both where they attend school, and by absentee ballot from their parents homes. I don't think anyone has worked this out nor a way to combat the double=voting that I am convinced many of them are doing. My biggest reason for this thought is the large increase in Democrat voters over the last 15 years, and most "students" are very Liberal. They are full of ideas until they get out into the world and have to do a job and get a real paycheck and pay their own bills. Until then, they tend to overwhelmingly vote Democrat.
That sound that you hear is me slapping my thick skull! ;-)

It's pretty simple actually.
George Allen's campaign did this:
Just send him his dad's books.
Ummm no, you should be slapping my thick skull.
I should have checked which post you were responding to before I responded back.
Rapid-fire posting is fun until somebody loses an eye.
Got a link to that website?
Jim Webb is no "Blue Dog". How many conservative Dems were out quoting Karl Marx on the campaign trail?
I did a year at SP90, however.
SP90? The geographic South Pole (90 degrees South)? Well, officially or not, I bet your nose got pretty blue anyway!
"Jim Webb is no "Blue Dog". "
You're right, I checked the list and its confined to some 40 or so House Dems.
I guess he is simply a rabid dog.
