After wrapping up the NATO summit in Riga, Latvia, President Bush traveled to Amman, Jordan for a two day conference to discuss the sectarian violence in Iraq.
A scheduled meeting there with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki was postponed until tomorrow after yet another internal White House memo was leaked to (and published by) the New York Times. The memo reportedly questions al-Malikis ability to control the violence in his country.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice traveled from the NATO summit to the West Bank city of Ramallah for talks to help preserve the cease fire between Israelis and Palestinians.
Enjoy your day visit to Sanity Island
I am SO thankful that President Bush is strong enough to resist 'popular' opinion. These entertainers (and that's what they all are) are sticking their fingers up in the air and trying to say what will get them higher ratings.
As far as I'm concerned, they are nobodies.
I am moved to tears by that, but not surprised.
I have a not yet 23 year old son who would do the same thing for his Commander in Chief.
The malcontents on FR should learn a lesson from these young patriots.
Thank you SO much for sharing that story, Jewels!
The difference is that we have warm spells and it melts (that nasty old gulf air that turns our snow into rain!) and there it stays all winter.
We've had snow three times already this fall, and that is really unusual. In December, January and February we get quite a bit, and sometimes in March, and one year we got two six inch snowfalls in April!
Good pictures tonight, thanks I really enjoyed all of them.
Here in TX we are going to need more than ski's
1-3 inches of ICE! YUK.
Temp dropped from 70 to 40 in about an hour.
Will post toasters tomorrow - need to do a special one for Mamba in celebration of her 50th toaster - noted what picture you want Justa.
Night all
Thanks for the dose SJ. Looks like we have great photos tonight. I said HI to you at work, then came home to no electricity. When the lights went back on I shouted, THANK YOU GOD FOR THOMAS EDISON!!!"
These guys are snake-oil salesmen going around in their painted wagons taking people in with their sleazy sales pitch.
Perfect image!
If you would like to send something you can freepmail mystery-ak and she can give you my address and some soldiers names to send to if you like...thanks for the support
Yikes! I thought you were to far south for that kind of snowfall? Three snowfalls already? What about that global warming thingy? ;*)
Great pics ... that's some rig with the two things .. (;) sticking up .. looks almost like a pumping truck for septic tanks .. LOL. Hey Jon ... ya look good. God bless and keep safe.
We were all excited when our local Cable company finally got FoxNews, but quickly realized that, except for big important things happening, and Brit Hume's news show in the evening, it was mostly junk. It seemed like the same news was rehashed all day long, so it wasn't really that informative. I could have strangled Shep and Geraldo during their coverage of Hurricane Katrina. Much of it was just irresponsible. We have family in MS, and in New Orleans, and their coverage was abysmal; we never could find out anything of real value, and it was several days before we could reach folks, to make sure they were safe, so it was nerve wracking!
Since I started getting most of my news from the headlines at FR, I haven't even watched Fox, anymore, and I have found I haven't missed it at all. ;o)
Will do! My life is one big support our troops fest! I wouldn't have it any other way. I appreciate you all so much! Stay safe!
LOL!
I guess the 'scientists' got that wrong. :)
*snicker*
Yeah they have some many gadgets on these trucks now a days i can't even keep track of what they do....
Niiiice - stole it.
Hurricane Katrina was the beginning of the end for me at Fox. It was hideous. Even John Gibson was blaming President Bush.....a direct lie.......and I've never felt the same way about him since.
The election coverage topped it off. I don't even watch Special Report any more.
What it boils down to is that I don't care what people who just talk for a living have to say. I care what people who have responsibility to DO something have to say.
So I listen to what President Bush, and VP Cheney, and Condi and Rummy have to say. I listen to the Generals in Iraq, and the troops who come home and tell the truth about it, and I don't care about the rest.
But NOW it's time for bed.........so GOOD NIGHT little Suzi.......and everyone else too!
I tell you, I was teary eyed when he said it...he also said that the guys over there understand why they are there and what they are doing. And that they are very grateful that Bush is President right now.
