ree stories today, my good friends, on happiness -- which, as I say, stuns me, given the fact that I thought everybody was delirious after the elections. I haven't heard of any Post-Election Stress Trauma, such as after the '04 election a bunch of south Floridians needed to go get counseling over the fact that Bush won. They needed counseling after the Bush election victory. I haven't heard of anything marginally like that at all, yet apparently there is a lot of misery, and so all the stories on happiness are out. The three headlines are: "Researchers Seek Routes to Happier Life;" another headline is: "Study: Money, Happiness Link is Complex," and then there's: "The Secret to Success -- A hit Internet movie claims to reveal centuries-old secrets to getting what you want in life."

Third-quart GDP up 2.2
percent, up from 1st estimate
WASHINGTON - The U.S. economy grew faster than first thought in third quarter on strong business investment, even as the housing sector posted its biggest decline in more than 15 years, the government said Wednesday. Gross domestic product, which measures total economic activity within U.S. borders, expanded at a 2.2 percent annual rate during the third quarter, higher than the 1.6 percent gain first estimated and above Wall Street expectations for a 1.8 percent gain.

The Post-retreat Return to Iraq
On November 27, 2006, the media stepped up their demands for an immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq by officially naming the incursion a civil war. While questioning their motives, Americans must also be extremely concerned with how quickly these same voices will demand our military be sent back in a humanitarian effort to halt the inevitable post-retreat genocide.

A stitch in time saves nine
Funny, now that we learn that Iran has given the finger to the UN and is installing the latest in surface to air missiles to protect their burgeoning nuclear plants, that Hezbollah is refulgent, that Gaza is throwing more off kilter missiles at Israel than Ryne Duren threw out of control fast balls at Yogi Berra, and that Jimmy Carter has blamed the United States for every ill except Athletes foot and mastitis, the Democrats are beginning to flesh out their plans for the exponential number of investigations designed to cripple our military response, and render us more vulnerable to attack. Living up to their reputations...
