I could never understand why he went with the title of Colonel. Personally if it were me I would go with something along the lines of "Supreme everlasting overlord most mighty"

From WIKI:
Muammar al-Qadhdhāfī) (born c.1942) has been the de facto leader of Libya since 1969. Although Gaddafi holds no public office or title, he is accorded the honorifics "Guide of the First of September Great Revolution of the Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya" or "Brotherly Leader and Guide of the Revolution" in government statements and the official press.[1]

He actually, legitimately, held the rank of Colonel in the Libyan Army, before leading a coup.
And he always travels with that platoon of well-armed hotties.

Gaddafi's a nut, and has been since the early eighties. Some of the stories I've read regarding his antics over the years would leave you speechless.
