University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman is offering students an interesting lesson: Never let the law prevail over your own vanity.
Just one day after Michigan voters overwhelmingly passed Proposal 2 - thereby ending racial and gender preferences in the state's public sector, Coleman said she'd do everything possible to avoid incorporating racial equality into her school's admissions policies.

Former Univ. of Iowa president. But I can't seem to add US: Iowa to the keyword list
Unfortunately, Coleman was likely appointed herself on the basis of gender affirmative action. Have you noticed how many one-time excellent universities have gone the route of putting in female (left-leaning) presidents? Seems like it's the "in" thing to do.
Playing the role of George Wallace on the university steps to continue racial inequality. Will the national guard have to be called out to enforce the law?
She's awful.
I'm aware that she came to Michigan from Iowa. If she were an athlete, she'd have to sit out two years transferring from one Big Ten school to another. Unfortunately, that's not the case for her now. (LOL!)
Dr. King would be soooo proud.

Typical Democrat. Don't let elections stand in your way. Don't let laws stand in your way.
It's on there: IA
Alumni better get wallets out--I smell lawyers!
One might think that she would be careful about mouthing off on this issue because of the Supremes' decision invalidating the undergrad admissions policies she inherited when she came on the job at U-M, and forcing changes that would be consistent with the 14th Amendment's "equal protection" clause. No such luck, apparently.
Hmmm.... Interesting that you would direct that post to me. I'm a lawyer who graduated from the University of Michigan.
They'll never get a dime from me.
They'll never get a dime from me.
That is too funny. You can be sure someone will sue again (and quicker). You might represent them. LOL
Can the U of M Regents, elected by the state's voters, kick Coleman out if she obstinately refuses to abide by Prop. 2?
I don't know who are the current Regents, but the citizens of Michigan had better take notice and see that they don't allow the Regents and Coleman to flout the law.
Please don't bill for your consultation, Brilliant. (LOL!)
M's admissions policy was not changed.
She's a pig. Was a pig at Iowa. Still is.
If that's true, are they still working on changes, even "cosmetic" ones, in the undergrad admissions policies?
You would have to think that the university attorneys are either brazen or ignorant if they just sat by and did absolutely nothing in the face of the SCOTUS decision declaring their policy unconstitutional.
This is typical of the liberal thought process: The majority can never be trusted--after all, they are just a bunch of yahoos--so all important decisions must be made by the intellectual (and moral) elite. Preferably, by federal judges. In the meantime, the academic elite will do just fine, thank you.
