Hi there Dolly.

We get snow here and there, now and then. Not every winter and usually not for long when it does come. Going by memory I'd say we probably get snow every other winter on average, or one winter in three maybe. This system is sweeping down from the Fraser River area in Canada so it's cold as well as snowy. We even had what is called thundersnow tonight = snow storm with thunder and lightning. There are some power outages.

The State Patrol shut down a chunk of Interstate 405 tonight -- very unusual, and they were looking at closing part of Interstate 5, which makes any north-south commute a bit of a pickle. They said the road was too hazardous to navigate.

Hugs back atcha.

I agree with you. Lots of different people here and it's inevitable that we're going to step on each other's toes every once in a while.

humble is good. He did this one quickly and was telling me that he needed to make it better. I told him I like it just the way it is!

Do you have to go to work tomorrow? are the road crews good?

when I lived in NC, they just really couldn't handle the storms well & it was best to just stay home a few days til it melted

I will ping you.

Do you know of anyone who's had security problems because of having their photo on their homepage?

I only have a few really silly jokes.

:-)

So glad to hear your friend made it home from Afghanistan. I wanted to thank you for keeping the list up.

Our friends' daughter is on her way home from Iraq! She was in the Stryker brigade that had been held over for another four months. But she's on her way back to base, and will be home for Christmas. I e-mailed her Dad last night, when I read about the group on FR, and he wrote back to day that she had called at 3:30 in the morning to let them know she was on the way. He woke her Mom up so she could talk to her. Needless to say they're thrilled. But I wanted to add their oldest son, Tommy, to the list, now. He's a missle specialist, and is in the Middle East somewhere keeping tabs on Iran, so prayers will be appreciated for him.

That is good news. I hate anytime our troops are injured/killed & for some reason when they are women my heart hurts just a bit more..

I can understand paranoia.... anyone can see who you are...

I'm still considering it.

The temptation to do it is becoming almost irresistible.

I can't wait to see her! She was excited about her work in Iraq. She did a lot of interviews of Iraqi women; she said they were sometimes a real good source of information. I guess some of the men regard the women as furniture, and don't realize just how much the women are learning about what's going on.

I think for some of the FReepers who are politicially outspoken here there might be possiblity of having their pix posted on DU or Clown Possee. I had a few of mine posted. And I am anything but politically astute. Mine were more or less poking fun at some of my threads.

Dont really worry about it. Anything we say or post here is open to the world.. if we don't mean it & aren't willing for "the world" to see it, we better just lurk!

maybe we can feature her on a finest thread. when she comes back, ask her? would want good pix & some detailing. I could either do a sep thread or work up a nice table (preferable) for posting on Military Monday..

Well, lurking just doesn't give me the same satisfaction as posting...

;-)

And I certainly don't care if some goofball liberals make fun of me! lol! If they were to do something really funny, I'd laugh, too!
