Fox News Sunday had the three Congressional leaders destined to rule us. What struck me was their ages--Barney Frank (66), Charles Rangel (76) and John Dingell (80). As I recall Both Nancy Pelosi and Dennis Hoyer are about 66 or 67.
Dingell really looks like he needs a long rest. The other two seem fairly alert but Rangel keeps coming up with off the wall statements with seemingly no real emotional commitment to them.
This is going to be a tough two years unless nature intervenes and relieves us of one or more of these three.
I think Robert Byrd, who will be Chairman of the Appropriations Committee in the Senate is in his 90's...yikes.
Oh....and he was just reelected for 6 more years in Nov.
Well...Bill Kristol has officially become a "hang wringing old woman"....
It is the beginning of the 2008 campaign. We need to figure out how to counter this bogus hearing strategy.
Uh.oh....Brit just said that President Bush doesn't have anything to lose, re: the war in Iraq.
What is THAT supposed to mean?
Of course he does....try American citizens...AND his whole point of being there!!
I don't know...maybe it's me...but, more and more freepers every day are turning into FLEEpers...and even Brit starts talking goofy.
Bill Kristol has unofficially been another crazy aunt in the attic for some time. He's up there with Pat Buchanan.
This whole business of "neocon" activism is crap and does not apply to 99% of conservatives or Americans. Okay... 95%. Okay... I hope it's not very many.
Just my opinion.
I TOTALLY agree with you. One item we need to address is how to counter this bias? I know I'm thinking of how best to do it.
Reacting to individual attacks may not be the best way and invites criticism of "they all do it" or the GOP is just like the Democrats. OTOH, we have allowed too many attacts to happen that has hurt our credibility.
My sense is to set the agenda, with standards, and oppose either Republicans or Democrats who are on the other side.
Just remember, Brit Hume is on our side. We have to understand where Brit and others are coming from and what they are really saying. Hang in there.
Okay...I am having a dense moment.
Where is Brit coming from when he says that Pres. Bush has nothing to lose over the war in Iraq....if we cut an run, which was the implication of the answer he gave?
You're very welcome Rodguy911.
The tip of the iceberg, you know.
Thanksgiving blessings to you.

Smiling...one more link because there are so many
wonderful people and events in this world of ours.
The quote is taken out of context and incomplete. No offense, but we cannot laud Brit Hume for years and years and then all of a sudden turn against him. We need to evaluate what he says, and where he's coming from before jumping to conclusions.
Sorry...I just thought his points were a bit on the pessimistic side...and have been for a while.
But, hey, JMO.
It didn't sound like it. Lott talked mainly about how well he has worked with his friends across the aisle, and how he will work with them for a minimum wage increase. Isn't that special?
