Check THIS out...new thread...and column by Chuck Hagel...and the poster that posted it proclaimed it the TRUTH!!!!
ROFLMAO!!!!
Manchester was a Marine in WWII and saw combat on many of the islands there. It haunted him for years, he made a pilgrimage of sorts in the 1970s and wrote about the battles, and how things on those islands have changed since then. It was a cathartic experience for him. The book was called Goodbye Darkness. Very good, if you can find it. I might still have mine, I'll have to look around. I read it when I was flying over those same islands on my way to Australia in 1982.
That's sick.
Every once in a while...we do get reports..and I have given a few from the Wolfie show...and from Stephy, if he is having an "interesting" guest.
But, when you get so many of them having the same people we heard the week before...it seems no one on this site is paying attention...and I don't blame them.
I am resolved to watch and report on the shows most people don't watch...like Face the Nation, next week...just so we can all have more voices to discuss.
We really need to have a select group of hero Freepers that will be small in number but diligently report the lies, and crappola that the DBM like Buffalo Butt Timmah spew as surely as they take in air.

More as it becomes available.
That, Johnnie, is so dang good!!!
Reality set in comedy, I love it! Ridicule is sometimes the only way with these people, and you did a great job.
It's been announced that Martin Scorsese is making a book from the middle portion of the first book, I assume primarily dealing with TR's years converting himself from the proverbial sickly 90 pound weakling to the robust character we all know. Scorsese is once again pairing with Leonardo DiCaprio for this picture. At first the choice seems ludicrous, but he did a great job as young Howard Hughs and there is a physical resembelance to Roosevelt as a young man, even as late as the Spanish American War and the charge up San Juan Hill.
ditto that
Hagel is a typical RINO, who speeks before he thinks.
sorry, Edmund Morris, not Morrison.
I will volunteer for duty for Face the Nation...even though I can't deal with Bob Schieffer very well...ugh.
But, hey....it is a piece o' cake compared to what our POTUS and troops have to deal with.
Hagel is also running for POTUS....I just want to know which party he wants to run from...he coitinley ain't a Republican, let alone a conservative.
Hagel can run all he wants, and waste his donors money. He cannot win a GOP primary, IMHO. Maybe he should talk to John McCain?
OT...
I just heard part of a report about how Michael Richards went on Jesse Jackson's radio show....to apologize.
Fox played part of his interview.....MY GOSH, I thought Trent Lott bent over too much....MR was disgusting.
All this does is perpetuate the "blacks are victims" mentality that Jesse and Al Sharpton feed off of.
GAG ME!!!
OOOPS...I forgot to add....in order not to get in trouble myself.
That I thought he was WAY out of line..in what he said and did....but, he apologized, he probably is a racist...but, hey everyone he is a COMIC!!! ugh.
For the record, I don't know squat about Michael Richards and didn't watch Steinfeld anyway. I never knew his name until this came up.
My first reaction was Richards must be a Republican because he's catching grief from the same liberals who give every racist on their side a pass. Now he seems to think he can do a PR campaign to save his reputation and income. So then I thought he's probably a liberal and the whole event now is nothing but another disinformation campaign to justify his contrition on the issue.
Either way, he's an idiot and handled it wrong.
You are right snugs.

Rangel votes against own draft measure
By Michael S. Gerber
Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) did something a little unusual yesterday. First he protested when Republican leadership scheduled his own bill for a vote.
Then he sent out a letter encouraging his Democratic colleagues to vote against it.
Rangels bill, which the leadership had placed on the suspension calendar, would create a national-service draft under which all 18- to 26-year-olds would serve in the military or perform two years of national service as determined by the president. Rangel has been advocating a draft for several years, but he argued yesterday that the bill was too important for the suspension calendar, which is reserved for non-controversial items, he said in a statement.
Bills on the suspension calendar cannot be amended on the floor and require two-thirds of the House to clear the chamber.
Rangel accused Republicans of using his bill to assuage fears that President Bush had plans to reinstate the draft, stating, The Republican leadership decision to place the draft legislation on the suspension Calendar is a political maneuver to kill rumors of the Presidents intention to reinstate the draft after the November election.
He went on to urge Democrats running for reelection to vote no.
I am voting no, because my bill deserves serious consideration, his statement continued.
It should be subject to hearings and to expert testimony. The administration should come and tell us about our manpower needs, about recruitment and retention, about the extent to which out troops are overextended. And they should give us their views about shared sacrifice. If they did all of those things in a serious way, they would have to admit that my bill is an option.
Democrats said Republican leaders gave them no notice that the Rangel bill was headed to the floor."
LOL..I never watched Seinfeld either...but I new his name.
BTW..I just saw the first part of Fox News Sunday...Rangel and Dingell don't even make a pretense of working with Pres. Bush....seems their list of "investigations" is longer than my granddaughter's Christmas list...and that is LONG!!
Agreed. We'll have to wait and see about how many investigations the Democrats really have but it is not encouraging right now.
