WASHINGTON COUNTY-- Parents of a marine accused in the November 2005 slayings of Iraqi civilians in Haditha are coming to their sons defense.
Lance Corporal Justin Sharratt, 22, who lived in western Pennsylvania for a time, is one of several Marines under investigation. Now, his parents, who grew up in Washington County, say their son told them he followed the rules of engagement.
They say their son was raised a Catholic and knows the difference between right and wrong. The Sharratts also say they believe the Marines have abandoned those implicated in the killings.
They also blame U.S. Rep. John Murtha for prejudging the Marines allegedly involved in the incident on national television.
So far, Sharratt is not been charged.
The U.S. Marine Corp had no comment on this story.
There is video at the link.
You are right, of course. I should have used a /s tag. ;*)
It is already half written.....if only I could find where I put it! I'm still trying to sort through and organize a bunch of files and finding some in double and triplicate resulting from the crashes I sustained a couple months ago. *sigh*
I knew that's the way you meant it. :-)
You know, I think I will post this as a thread. We might pick up another Freeper or two who'll be a help.
No sweat. Just want you to know I'm ready when you are.
There are a ton of Free Republic threads. Most came from jaz, I added a bunch more. I hope it will be useful to people searching for information.
Sam, pinging you to the Defend Our Marines link above. There are many Sweetness & Light (most via FR) links on the page. Thanks for the great investigations and analysis!
Thanks for the Defend Our Marines page, Red. You've done a great job collecting and organizing all that info.
My next task is to contact the defense lawyers to at let them know there is support for the Marines. I hope to gain updates as well that can be shared.
Pinging you to post 126 above. At the link, there is a big archive of Haditha Marine material--including links to FR threads. You posted a number of them. I thought you'd like to know that this archive exists.
