MINISTER PAUL HILL, who was executed for murdering two abortion providers in 1994, is lionized as a martyr on the Army of God Web site. On September 11, 2006, the fifth anniversary of the terror attacks that devastated our nation, a man crashed his car into a building in Davenport, Iowa, hoping to blow it up and kill himself in the fire. No national newspaper, magazine, or network newscast reported this attempted suicide bombing, though an AP wire story was available. Cable news (save for MSNBCs Keith Olbermann) was silent about this latest act of terrorism in America.
Had the criminal, David McMenemy, been Arab or Muslim, this would have been headline news for weeks. But since his target was the Edgerton Womens Health Center, rather than, say, a bank or a police station, media have not called this terrorism even after three decades of extreme violence by anti-abortion fanatics, mostly fundamentalist Christians who believe theyre fighting a holy war.
Since 1977, casualties from this war include seven murders, 17 attempted murders, three kidnappings, 152 assaults, 305 completed or attempted bombings and arsons, 375 invasions, 482 stalking incidents, 380 death threats, 618 bomb threats, 100 acid attacks, and 1,254 acts of vandalism, according to the National Abortion Federation.
Abortion providers and activists received 77 letters threatening anthrax attacks before 9/11, yet the media never considered anthrax threats as terrorism until after 9/11, when such letters were delivered to journalists and members of Congress.
After 9/11, Planned Parenthood and other abortion-rights groups received 554 envelopes containing white powder and messages like: You have been exposed to anthrax. . . . We are going to kill all of you. They were signed by the Army of God, a group that hosts Scripture-filled Web pages for Anti-Abortion Heroes of the Faith, including

They may be nuts, but they are not "lone."
These piddling numbers are insignificant to the number of lives snuffed out by abortions since then....
Does that means that these people are OK in your book?
No I'm not an anti-abortion nut. Neither am I some nut who feels the lives of these 'providers' were/are worthy enough to fret over any more than any other murder committed in this country. Because they take the lives of unborn children, I am supposed to exhalt and mourn them when they, in turn, are murdered? I think not.

and soon will be extinct.
Now that the Dems have regained power, I suspect that we will re-focus on our REAL terrorist threat - middle-aged white guys from red states who own guns.
That is most unfortunate. If they are not "lone", shame on those who support them in any way; I hope they are rounded up and locked up like any other criminal.
And Gaffer, anyone who takes a shotgun and shoots an innocent woman in the back (which is how some clinic receptionist died) is a bottom-feeding coward. As for the doctors who perform abortions, God will be their judge, not Paul Hill or any other like-minded dirtbag who has delusions of Godhood. No one says you have to mourn them, but you might have some sympathy for their children.
And so may all lib rags go the way of the dinosaur!

The blessing of the Internet is that it has allowed many folks of good heart to link together and work together on matters of common interest--even if it's just a matter of letting others know that they are not alone and giving them encouragement in whatever good they're doing.
The curse of the Internet is that it's done the same thing for various folks of psychopathic or sociopathic bent.
If the law is broken, the guilty should be punished, period. There are plenty of proponents for that. It is unfortunate that there aren't as many, nor legal remedies for the unborn victims.
Your last sentence breaks my heart--I am with you on that one brother.
I see you haven't quite lost your leftist sense of moral self congratulation, yet.
No. I means people like you are willing to stoop to using statistically insignificant numbers to paint your opposition with the same brush normal people use to color islamo-fascists.
I don't go around making myself judge, jury and executioner; I am not congratulating myself on that score, its just a fact.
People who kill abortionists or clinic workers ARE dirtbags, like any other murderer. Insulting me will not change that fact.
It's mighty tempting to use the pro-abortion logic and say "I'm personally opposed to killing abortion providers, but I don't think it's right to deny that right to others," and "Don't like abortion clinic bombings? Don't bomb one."
Mighty tempting - but only to illustrate the flaws in that logic, not to hold as one's actual opinions.
OK, so the degree of evil is a matter of numbers alone. Got it.
