They "announced" half a second before attacking the door.

Considering she managed to shoot three cops, she was quick to grab the gun in that "half second". And a d*mned good shot to boot.

I generally support police but I can't help but feel sympathy for this old lady.

She lives in a tough neighborhood. They probably scared the hell out her banging on the door. She starts putting rounds in the center of the door, 3 cops get hit and pissed off, and they return fire.

Maybe the cops can do a better job of determining who lives in the house and who they might confront. If they had known a 92 year old lady was there alone, I think they'd have acted differently.

I doubt it. Most cops were the kids who got beat up in High School so they become armed thugs with a grudge against the world.

I'm telling you people, don't let the 'little old lady' bit dissuade you. There are little old lady drug dealers all around Atlanta. They are a good cover for just the same reason that is expressed here. "A little old lady wouldn't be dealing drugs". HA!

If it had been my mother she never would have heard them no matter how load they shouted. These no-knock searches should stop.

That's what I am thinking. She must have been sitting on the couch with a knitting needle in one hand and the pistola in the other to hit three prepared (OK, maybe not so prepared) officers. That was one very well prepared old lady.
