Good evening Troops, Veterans, Allies, and to your family members!
Howdy to the Canteen and Lurkers:

Tonight we continue with our Thanksgiving holiday themed week!
(Well, it sort of worked out that way)

Anyways, we would like your suggestions for the best movies for viewing this holiday week in all different movie genres;
Family, comedy, thriller, etc...

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Troops, Veterans, Allies, and to your families!

Thank you for our freedom!!

Let's Roll....

'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' w/John Candy and Steve Martin. Great Thanksgiving fun.

Not exactly Thanksgiving, but it does make you think about the founding of the country and should make you thankful that you live in America, 'National Treasure.'

Both are family friendly, but won't hold the attention of very young viewers.

The best movie based on a real person? "Pride of the Yankees" is always a winner!

It is customary around my house to set up the Christmas tree Thanksgiving evening and watch "White Christmas". Everything stops tho for the "sisters" routine as done by Bing and Danny Kaye!

A PRAYER OF PROTECTION

The light of God surround you
The love of God enfold you
The power of God protect you
The presence of God watch over you
Wherever you are, God is,
And all is well.
Amen.

BLESS THIS HOUSE
 Bless this house O Lord we pray; Make it safe by night and day;
Bless these walls so firm and stout, Keeping want and trouble out:
Bless the roof and chimneys tall, Let thy peace lie over all;
Bless this door, that it may prove ever open to joy and love.
Bless these windows shining bright, Letting in God's heav'nly light;
Bless the hearth a'blazing there, with smoke ascending like a prayer;
Bless the folk who dwell within, keep them pure and free from sin;
Bless us all that we may be Fit O Lord to dwell with thee;
Bless us all that one day we May dwell O Lord with thee.

Here's wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving! I did my shopping early today. Bought two bread baskets of assorted rolls to take to the family dinner, also some fruit for dessert since I don't eat cakes and pies anymore.

The store had specialty tea bags on sale, so I bought a bunch for stocking stuffers and little gifts.

Well, if you are going out and are a Bond fan, Casino Royale is fantastic!

A must for our family is Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation. Can't help but laugh every year. A classic.

OK. Here's a list of my favorite (gal's) Christmas movies:

Miracle on 34th Street.
Going My Way & Belle's of St. Mary's (two of Bing's best!)
White Christmas
All three versions of The Shop Around the Corner (includes In the Good Old Summertime & You've Got Mail)
Sleepless in Seattle
Prancer (great for kids and adults)
Elf (the best recent movie for Christmas)
Meet Me in St. Louis
Little Lord Fauntleroy (the Ricky Schroeder version)
Grumpy Old Men (I)
