Four PA Arabs Caught Cutting Down Olive Trees
Well, it would certainly be commensurate with their culture. The Palestinians are the locusts of the world.

Four Palestinian Authority Arabs were caught by Samaria district police Tuesday evening as they were trying to cut down olive trees.
The four claimed they were working for the owner of the property, who sent them to cut down the trees. Police launched an investigation to question the owner and determine whether the four have been involved in similar incidents in the past. They were held for questioning.
they will probably blame Bush. if they cut them all down they would have to import canned olives from us or the greeks. oh well!
Hmmm ~ kind of hard to do anything at all in Palestine in the 7th century. They really didn't weather the first couple of centuries of the Dark Ages all that well you know.
They were gathering peace offerings...
And did they videotape it and send it to the owner of the trees via Al-Jezeera?

One PA Arab reportedly beat his chest three times and said "As Mohammed-peace be upon him-is my witness, I did not cut down a single olive tree. This isn't my axe, and if anyone says differently I'll chop his head off."

The worst thing that happened In Palestine was the war between East Rome and the Persians. Much of the success of the Arab invasion was owing to the exhaustion of both parties after a long war. But the two sides had been battling it out for centuries. Julian the Apostate was killed in one of the wars.

But.....but....but..........I'm sooooo confused. I thought it was the "mean old nasty imperialistic oppressive Jooooooooooz" that cut down olive trees! (sarcasm off)
Folks were delirious with joy for a couple of centuries after that ~ Byzantine armies that hadn't been paid in a century defected to the Arabs in fact (who had thought seriously on the matter and took pains to pay them ~ which is something that usually works to get the attention, if not the sympathy, of any army).

So much for extending an olive branch as part of the reconciliation process...
Thanks for the ping. You know what they say in real estate... "location, location, location". The Palis wouldn't have cut them down if the trees were good for sniper positions. If however, the severed trees could be used for propoganda...
What is it with Muslims and decapitation, anyway. People, trees... a day without slicing and hacking is like a day without sunshine?
In Islam it is permissible to cut down the enemy's trees and destroy their dwellings (p. 604, o9.15).
