"The right-wing stranglehold on Congress has been broken," declared Joelle Fishman, chair of the Communist Party USAs (CPUSA) political action commission, to a meeting of its 81-person National Committee this past weekend.
Fishman noted, "This is a victory being celebrated around the world."
Fishman delivered her report to the committee as it discussed the results of the election and prepared to move the struggle for democracy, peace, and economic justice forward in the new Congress, and to build the size and influence of the Communist Party.
Overwhelmingly, the committee claimed victory for the US working class, the world, and for democracy as a result of the landslide that swept the Republican Party from power in Congress.
"Our Party gave its heart and soul to the struggle," declared CPUSAs Executive Vice-chair Jarvis Tyner.

Because higher taxes is good for the working class?
I know we all sit HERE and complain about the Socialists/Communists plans for our government but we must realize this is what the voters in the last election wanted.
The Dems have created an environment of class warfare and portrayed corporations as greedy to their success. Rather than use catchphrases such as 'workers' plight they decry the dwindling 'middle class' and the poverty ignored by the government. They indoctrinate the 'masses' that the government is the solution. Taxing the rich for their benefit is the answer. If we can't get enough from that, tax their wealth (not net worth, mind you). Corporations are subject to government control of production.
All in all it is secular progressives that have won. The difficulty is 'putting the genie back in the bottle' because the entitlement mentality will not relinquish what the dems have led them to believe they are due.
The collectivist's will 'burn down your house'(referring to the joke of the American, Frenchman and Russian's last wish). We have all seen it evident in the Union negotiations.
"They're right. Democrat/Commie, same thing."
Democommie
Yes, I guess they should, the Democrat Party is actually the DeMARXocrat Party.
"I wonder why are they allowed in our country? It is like allowing e coli in your food."
That's what I was thinking. Why is the Communist Party not outlawed here?
Did I read this right? The Cold War is now over and the Communists won?
Who are the commies looking toward to lead them to victory in the upcoming Presidential elections??? Clinton is a follower of Saul Alinsky and his hate-America politics. She is the leader of the Dem-Coms and is keeping her head down when it comes time to define her policies and ambitions. Marxism, her God, will change America if she becomes POTUS and no one will stop her from drastically changing everything from the Constitution to the military. She has tried to present herself as a moderate but she is a communist, through and through.
Marxism (READ: virulent anti-capitalism) has already changed America. Look at how people in this country already think prescription drugs should be readily made available to them regardless of their paying for them. Look at how your average American thinks "healthcare" is a god-given right or how a commodity like gasoline should be at whatever price they want. Your basic American looks at corporations and sees nothing but corruption but could care less about corruption in govt. They think businesses owe them something. Around a 3rd of every one of the businesses in this country has been or will be sued. Look at how Americans want workers comp or a big govt handout after a hurricane.
The laziness and ignorance of people in this country is driving it down a sewer hole. What difference is there between Republicans and Democrats anyway? Bush Sr. raised taxes and his son spent at a level unseen before in this country.
And believe me, what happens in Washington is just a small part of it. At the grassroots level, most Americans are already socialists. Look at your local elections. Look at your local school boards who handle your children, your property taxes, your local laws. Americans have been kissing away liberties and their money locally for a long time because they want govt to be nurturing mother.
This is why we view retirement (ie - getting thousands of dollars in checks every year after you turn 65) is a Constitutional right. Ditto for prescription drugs. This country is already a welfare state and its people already welfare babies. It will be at European/Canadian levels in about 50-75 years.
Commies and other bed fellows who hated President Bush on the left and the right celebrate their great victory.
My tagline sums up these vile people.
>>Who are the commies looking toward to lead them to victory in the upcoming Presidential elections???<<
The Progressive Democrats.
The commie-red scare stuff tends to fall on alot of American deaf ears when the President of the United States is photographed this past sunday in Hanoi wearing a silk Vietnamese tunic along with Hu Jintao and Vladimir Putin.
Can anyone imagine Ronald Reagan wearing a silk Chinese Coolie Jacket in Shanghai or a Vietnanese Tunic in Hanoi?
Americans are sliding into hardcore socialism not because of what Bush wears, but because they feel more entitled to everything they did not earn more than ever before.
"Americans are sliding into hardcore socialism not because of what Bush wears, but because they feel more entitled to everything they did not earn more than ever before."
And you don't see President Bush's desire for Permanent Normalized Trade Relations with the Communist government of Vietnam as a part of that?
Interesting. The Boeing Corporation is hoping to build aircraft wings in Ho Chi Minh City as soon as PNTR is signed into law.
The Communists certainly regard the elections as a victory for themselves. If you look at their mouthpiece the People's Weekly World, you will find an article that begins:
Labor hits the ground running
Author: Rick Nagin
People's Weekly World Newspaper, 11/16/06 12:57
In Ohio, issues of Iraq, jobs, Social Security and health care top the agenda
CLEVELAND Flush with victory in the Nov. 7 elections, Clevelands labor activists, like their counterparts elsewhere, are pressing to broaden the base of their movement and are already taking initiatives to guarantee that campaign promises are realized.
...
The Communists used to stand their own presidential candidates, but they now so much identify themselves with the Democratic Party that they literally go out and pound the pavement for the Democrats, usually styling themselves "progressives".
Here's the beginning another one of their election victory pieces:
Now is time to move on health care, Conyers says
Author: Paul S. Kaczocha
Rep. John Conyers speaks at the Healthcare-NOW
conference in Chicago.
PWW photo by Scott Marshall.CHICAGO Health care activists from around the country gathered here for a strategy meeting Nov. 11-12, energized in the wake of the Democrats winning control of both houses of Congress. The invitation-only group of 60 discussed ways to continue building support for HR 676, legislation establishing a single-payer health care plan, introduced by Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.). It is also known as the Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act.
We are going to take giant steps, Conyers told the activists. Since Nov. 7, more is possible, this bill is possible. Now is the time to move.

I see Bush going to support capitalism in communist nations (as his father did w/ China) as a good thing. Compare Mao's China (greatest mass starvation in human history) to today's China and get back to me.
What I would be more worried about is not Bush supporting the opening of a stock market in Vietnam, but your neighbor (or yourself) selling out to nationalized education, healthcare, retirement, and every other govt program that your local, state, and federal bureaucracy can dream up.
We've gotten to the point in this nation where the govt can seize your land if they prove they can make money from it.
I'll be blunt: communists abroad opening up to capitalism and free trade is a good thing, Americans opening up to socialism and cradle-to-grave welfare and loss of basic liberties is a bad thing.

OK. I've got it now: free market communism abroad is good; government controlled capitalism at home is bad.
Bill Clinton makes the exact same argument.
