"The right-wing stranglehold on Congress has been broken," declared Joelle Fishman, chair of the Communist Party USA’s (CPUSA) political action commission, to a meeting of its 81-person National Committee this past weekend.
Fishman noted, "This is a victory being celebrated around the world."
Fishman delivered her report to the committee as it discussed the results of the election and prepared to move the struggle for democracy, peace, and economic justice forward in the new Congress, and to build the size and influence of the Communist Party.
Overwhelmingly, the committee claimed victory for the US working class, the world, and for democracy as a result of the landslide that swept the Republican Party from power in Congress.
"Our Party gave its heart and soul to the struggle," declared CPUSA’s Executive Vice-chair Jarvis Tyner.

Don't worry. These people are about as "communist" as any other garden-variety liberal. Take away their Volvos, credit cards, and homes and they'll scream blood murder. These people are the same as the "communists" I met in my years in New York City - they're nothing more than whining capitalist hypocrites. They'll bemoan the demise of the Soviet Union over a $100/plate dinner prior to going to a $300/seat Broadway show.
I guess they think that it is safe to 'come out of the democrats closet now'.

True. That crossed my mind and that is really what it is all about oyez. There is nothing "communal" about their worldview. If you want to see true communism in action, a Buddhist colony is about as good as you can get.
But communism as we know it is really about control by authoritative hypocrites, the greatest example of which today is Kim Jong Il, whose luxurious excesses rival that of kings while the country starves.

You'll find SOCIALIST Bernie Sanders among other the other closeted commies. And IIRC Nancy Pelosi is the chairperson. A few years back they had a direct link to the Socialist (commie) Party on their little US Government website. Nice, huh.
If I had my way they'd all be in Federal Prisons. Then again if this was 1950 they WOULD BE - and rightfully so.

Well, every liberal is one. I mean, with every single vote of a liberal this country spirals into that socialist mess.
Let me put it starkly: in our great-grandparents' day, Americans had to work from Jan to March to pay for federal programs. We now work from Jan to May. And this is just for federal programs, the bulk of which is devoured by Social Security and Medicare. State taxes are more insidious. Everyone complains about the cost of a gallon of gas but you probably pay around .25 cents per gallon just in state taxes on it (about .19 cents in federal too). You pay special state taxes for auto parts you probably don't know about. If you're in a major city, look at your paycheck and note that you pay a special city tax.
This country is spiraling downward because it's become an out of control bureaucracy and everyone (almost everyone) will sign on to feelgood legislation while selling liberty up the river. America turned toward socialism a long time ago and we'll reach European levels probably in about fifty years (by that I mean a general tax rate of 65%).
