D.C. Chapter Annual Christmas Party Saturday, December 9, 2006
Monday, November 20, 2006 | Kristinn

Posted on 11/20/2006 11:15:51 AM PST by kristinn

The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic is holding our annual Christmas party next month. We've had to schedule it earlier than usual due to the holiday schedule. Like last year, the party will be held at a private home in Olney, Maryland, but we would like to open it up to Freepers in good standing who don't usually come out and freep with us (for whatever reason) and out-of-town Freepers who'll be in the D.C. area that weekend.

Our hosts will buy the food, do the cooking and provide sodas and mixers. Each attendee will have the option of ponying up fifteen dollars or ten dollars and a covered dish or dessert to feed at least twenty. The cost for couples is per person.

Also, we'll be doing the gift exchange again, so please bring a wrapped gift.

If anyone is pressed for funds this season or needs a ride, please feel free to contact me via Freepmail to see if we can work it out so you're able to attend. Don't be shy, we want to see our FRiends!

Time: 2 p.m. to early evening, Saturday, December 9, 2006

Where: Olney, Maryand (contact Angelwood via Freepmail for directions.)

Bring: a wrapped gift for exchanging, BYOB, a covered dish or dessert for twenty people for five dollars off. (list of prefered dishes will be posted on this thread.)

Freepers are encouraged to make a day of it by participating in the regular Saturday Olney freep in the morning. Contact trooprally for details on that.

To pay in advance, please contact Angelwood. Or, you can give your payment to Mr. or Mrs. Trooprally at the Walter Reed or Olney freeps beforehand.

You are encouraged to RSVP on this thread, however you may RSVP to me via Freepmail.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and....

I don't know. Probably $10 to $25, or something homemade.

Absolutely make it a day. Horseshoes if the day is nice, air hockey, cigar room. If you come early and need your dish refrigerated, drop it off on your way to the FReep.

Directions to the Olney FReep are on Post 1 of every Olney AAR.
