Four shot at Annapolis mall By RYAN BAGWELL and JOSHUA STEWART Staff Writers
Secret Service agent wounded when he tries to stop fight.
At least four people were shot at the crowded Annapolis mall last night, including an off-duty Secret Service agent who opened fire on a teen involved in a food court gunfight.
At least six shots rang out just after 7:15 p.m. near the Cingular wireless store in the Westfield Annapolis mall, police and witnesses said, sending hordes of panicked shoppers running for cover.
The gunfire erupted after a group of young men started fighting with another young man, said Officer Sara Schriver, a county police spokesman. The Secret Service agent, who was at the mall with his family, tried to break it up, she said.
One person in the group pulled out a gun - possibly a revolver - and shot the agent, police said. The wounded agent fired back and was able hit the assailant.

I drove through there today looking for coffee. I used to work at the academy and am familiar with it. Very odd place for multiple shootings to occur.

My roommate works at the mall. She said that she heard atleast 6 shots. There has been alot of violence at Annapols high school this year. Feuding neighborhood drug dealers no doubt.
Now, how could this possibly happen? Maryland has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation. /sarcasm off

There are a few pockets. I remember one on Washington street that I was unfortunate enough to witness about a decade ago. It probably hasn't changed down there. I guess it was just a matter of time before they started 'claiming territory' up at the mall.

Since there is no descriptions of the perpetrators can we assume they werent white?
Most shoppers go to Annapolis because it got so bad that Landover Mall closed down and Waldorf Mall wasnt safe anymore, I guess now they will have to avoid Anapolis. My wife and I drive an extra 50 miles to Spotsylvania Mall in Va.
Costs 3 bucks to cross the bridge , but its worth it to feel at peace.
Actually they had closed the metal grate that secures the store at the entrance so we had to exit by the stairs. This happened at the food court.My son who had left the movie because he got call from some friends had walked out through the food court before it was closed off. He said chairs and tables were turned over; food and belongings on the floor from people running. However he went to the other end of the mall and the shoppers there were totally unaware.
The secret service agent tried to stop the fight of eight against one and was shot in the leg He shot the shooter, placing two bullets in the torso of the shooter. The shooter is in shock trauma and not been id yet due to medical condition. A 16 yr old was shot and released the same night and another person was greazed.
From what I have gathered the shooter was responsible for the other people getting wounded. The secret service agent was at the Mall with his family when he saw the fight of 8 teenagers beating up one teenager.
The did not identify the race, but all of us could guess this was some black kids who have the gansta mentality. It may be related to the fights between groups of kids that happened the day before on Friday at Annapolis Senior High.

Thank heavens. I hope he killed him dead, even if he was a teenager. Scum like that should be hunted down and removed from the face of the Earth.
