****......he won't be able to get conservatives on his presidential bandwagon. He is pro-choice and favors same-sex marriage, gun control and stem-cell research. He has to be able to swing Middle America. Name redacted Bellerose
**** Who is going to run Giuliani's exploratory committee? I understand Bernie Kerik, Russell Harding, Richard Roberts and a list of assorted cons are available from Giuliani's group of yes men. Maybe his driver will be our next attorney general. That's just what our country needs - more scandals. Whitestone
**** Giuliani was a terrible mayor, and has spent all his days promoting himself. Manhattan
**** Giuliani for president? What is happening to the moral high ground of the Republicans? It sounds like they are becoming the more corrupt and morally disgusting bunch of the two parties, yet they want Giuliani to lead the party of moral conviction and family values? Memphis, Tenn.
**** Giuliani as a presidential candidate is a scary concept. Manhattan

Do a Google search and see for yourself.
Just because someone puts that in an article (without clarification) doesn't make it so.
And while you're at it, check out Keriks bio. He's a former narc, not a limo driver.
Why is it that all Rudy-haters eventually get down to insults?
Only Rudy could make me a McCainiac. The nice thing about Mad Mc is that he'll be forced to pick a Rightist Veep . . . and I doubt Mc lives until 2017.
there
Interesting that you don't mention Bill Bratton as partly responsible for NYC's crime rate decline. From Wiki:
In 1994, William Bratton was appointed the 38th Commissioner of the New York City Police Department by Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani. He had success in this position, and introduced the CompStat system of tracking crimes, which proved successful in reducing crime in New York City and is still used to this day, but left the job in 1996 after alleged personal conflicts with Giuliani.
Another rap on Rudy is that he's a glory seeker who just can't stand to see someone else get credit for something good.
I remember when folks used to say "may the best man win" but the Rudy-haters literally boil with innuendo and lies.
If someone wrote that Rudy urinated in public, it becomes absolute fact with the Rudy-haters.
And try to disagree with them and they become apoplectic with illogical agrument.
You are free to vote for the liberal of your choice.
There you go. The next election will not only be about your own personal beliefs, but who can beat the democratic candidate--be it Rudy or not. Who can win the election, should be a major factor.
I heard, before the Election, that Ken Mehlman was going to leave the RNC and go to work as Campaign Manager for Guiliani. Like him or not, I think he will be the Republican Candidate in 08. McCain will lose and become the Candidate of the Independent Party. Hillary will be the Democrat Candidate and lose to Guiliani. There! That's my prediction! And Yes...the Democrats and Liberal Media are scared to death of a Guiliani run against Hillary, that's why they're trying to burn him now.
Rudy gets credit for getting rid of the squeegee men. He doesn't deserve it. Dinkins chief got rid of them when he heard Rudy was going to use them as an example of Dinkins ineffectual law enforcement policies.
You claim to be from New York, but you don't know this? You have just signed up recently and are a Rudy promoter. How many more of his advance men are headed our way?
"Why is it that all Rudy-haters eventually get down to insults?"
Better question, why would anyone who considers himself to be conservative even give Rudy a passing consideration? He is another Lincoln Chaffe.
This is a conservative website NOT a GOP booster club.
One of the many problems I have with Rudy is his outright disdain for the Second Amendment. Yet astonishingly I'll see Gun Owning Freepers say "That's not a problem as the POTUS doesn't write the laws." Well, exuuuuuuuuse me but they do, i.e: "Bush's Tax Cuts", "Bush's Medicare Drug Plan", "Bush's No Child Left Behind Act" and last but certainly not least .. "Clinton's Welfare To Work Program". These all started out as 'policy' that became law. So yes, in effect the POTUS DOES write the law.
Then we have the POTUS and Treaties. Right now the U.N. has more than a few "Anti-Gun Treaties" waiting for some Liberal U.S. anti-gun POTUS to sign them - which would be approved in a heart beat by the new Rat Congress.
Then we have the matter of E.O's. These little 'laws' set Federal policy on an issue - like if the 2A is a 'personal right' or 'state right' and then basing Federal arrests and prosecutions accordingly.
While Dubya is WRONG on Illegals and screwed the pooch with the Church Lady and spent like a drunken sailor, on the Second Amendment he's been 100% for our rights.
One of his first acts back in Jan of 01 was to send a rep to the U.N. and tell them in no uncertain terms - hands off the Second Amendment, the US will NOT sign any of those anti-gun treaties. Then when John Ashcroft was confirmed his first act as AG was to issue an official DOJ policy statement that the 2nd Amendment was a "Personal" Right. This put a monkey wrench in a few Klintoon-Reno instigated trials that were still ongoing.
Rudy would be worse than Klintoon. He'd do everything in his power, by hook or by crook, to confiscate every gun he and his AG could lay their hands on.
My rant is now OFF. Except for two final words for Rudy.... (no not those)...
"You know, I keep hearing from the Rudy boosters about the "great leadership" that Rudy provided during and after 9/11"
Perhaps if you lived in New York, and experienced first-hand how Rudy's no-nonsense approach to governing transformed this city, MY city, long before 9/11, you might recognize great leadership.
There is not one, NOT ONE, Conservative (as you define it) who can win a Presidential election and keep the Liberals and Democrats from sweeping into total power - with all that that implies, including judgeships.
There are only TWO Republicans with the name-recognition, star-power and fund-raising abilities to stop Hillary: Rudy and McCain.
On a 1-10 scale, with 10 being the most Conservative, nobody left of an 8 votes for Haley Barbour, or any of the so-called "Conservative values" group, and hence cannot win an election.
Rudy would get votes from 4 to 9, and that could win an election. Add to that the fact that he is where he needs to be on what I consider the most important and defining issues of our time, the GWOT and judicial nominations, and the fact that he is anti-tax-and-spend is icing on the cake. I can, I MUST, look past everything else.
The argument here is between ideology and practicality. If you let Hillary get in because your ideology will not allow you to vote for Rudy, you may as well go start your own country somewhere, because you won't recognize this one when the Dems are done with it.
Eternal Democrat control depends upon two things: the abolition of the Electoral College and massive amounts of dole-sucking immigration. Couple huge voting blocs beholden to Democrats for the food they feed their children every night with the tyranny of the majority rule, and you guarantee their power for the lifetime of our children and our children's children.
The stage is set for both of these things. Nationalism is now a dirty word. Patriotism is for loony far-right-wingers. Our children emerge from the universities bathed and scrubbed in multi-culturalism, and anybody that doesn't understand how the white man commited genocide upon an entire continent must be a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal.
America is a ripe fruit ready for the picking. Stay home and you're letting Hillary climb onto your back to harvest it.
Rudi's liberal views on abortion, gays, and guns--which I oppose--will not stop me from voting for him if that is what it takes to keep the Hildabeast and Slick Willy from moving back into 1600 Pennsylvania
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY
No, George Allen took out George Allen. He was at some 65% of the Virginia vote a few months ago.
