But reading a post intending to scare me away from Giuliani because he has gay friends or hired a gay person sounds like homophobia to me. No one can name me a Republican in the past few decades that HASN'T hired a gay person.

But I can't name a Republican, let alone a conservative, who got into a messy divorce and shacked up with two gay guys.

It's not like the mayor of NYC didn't have plenty of other choices he could have made. That choice tells us a lot about him, much like his remarks about funding his daughter's abortion while claiming to be a good Catholic.

I'm a Baptist but the bishop of my diocese has told such people to consider themselves excommunicated. The archbishop has told his flock that the Dim party is anti-Church and anti-life, making it very clear to them. This is one reason why we're considered to be such a conservative state. So we have a very conservative Catholic voter base here. A Rudy could wreak havoc on the party, on national legislation and weaken the Roman Church's moral authority in state politics.

Nothing you say about the Perils Of Hillary make voting for Giuliani worth it to me. As a Republican, as a conservative and as a citizen of a Red state, Rudy is just wrong.

Look, it's all about priorities, isn't it? I'm not about moral relativism, but here it is staring you in the face. I see Rudy v. Hillary as good v. bad; you see Rudy v. Hillary as bad v. worse. OK. No big deal, we disagree.

But when our country is in as grave and potentially lethal a danger as it has ever been in its history, in my opinion the GWOT has to get TOP priority, while you seem to be content to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Unlike the current administration he will bring some badly needed competence,charisma and an ability to articulate consrtvative principles. He has bee brining people to their feet with his rousing speeches on the campaign trail...

He has gone out of his way to praise Alito..Roberts and Schalia...

I think the chaos on the border will offend his law and order sensibilities not to mention his concerns on national security and I would look for some real progress on that issue. I think he understands the base and this is a major priority and he won't have a tin ear about it like Jorge W.

During the past campaign season, we saw the liberal northeast Republicans funneling money to defeat Graf (NRCC) in Arizona then leaving him with no money to run his campaign after he won the primary. We saw them spend hundreds of thousands to defeat Laffey and help the commie moron Chafee in the R.I. primary and then boatloads of cash to re-elect Chafee in the general.

In the case of the RCCC, it was controlled by northeast liberal Republicans, some of them from NY. Hopefully, they were among the defeated RINOs. The NRSC campaign was headed by Liddy Dole so further comment isn't needed.

It was the northeast liberal wing that just lost us this election by wasting money on liberals and working publicly to defeat conservatives. These are the same elements that voted for every budget-busting bit of pork they could find, unfortunately joined by too many otherwise sound conservatives.

And you think His Rudiness will be any different than what we saw in this last campaign? Oh, yeah, and Rudy just picked up Ken Mehlman, RNC chair, to run his committee. But then, none of that is connected, is it?

they called in the National Guard to handle the drug thugs that are repopulating the ninth ward and because there is a shortage of police. The thugs in the ninth ward walk around in the day time with what look like AK47's (yeah, they could have been semi auto SKS's but I didn't want to get out of the van and see for my self) and aren't afraid to shoot it out with the police.

The insistence of a bunch of cheapie liberals who call themselves Republicans in the northeast foisting a liberal candidate opposed to the decades-long conservative alliance within the GOP is what will give Hillary the presidency. In fact, I think it is about the only thing that can help her to win in '08. Given that these states never vote Republican, there is no reason to believe that Rudy or any other Republican can win them in the present political climate.

Rudy is Hillary's best hope. Perhaps her only hope.

Rudy is the ultimate Perot.

As far as 'forgiveness', I don't show up online to collect apologies from anyone. Say yer piece and be done with it. This isn't a PC circus like the lib forums are.
