This does by no means imply that I believe they should be married or have special rights. I DO NOT. I also don't want their lifestyle shoved down my throat. But reading a post intending to scare me away from Giuliani because he has gay friends or hired a gay person sounds like homophobia to me. No one can name me a Republican in the past few decades that HASN'T hired a gay person.

Also from Wikipedia (Voter Base section):
Sexual Orientation. Exit polls conducted in 2000, 2004 and 2006 indicate that 23-25% of gay and lesbian Americans voted for the GOP.
I get more than a little tired of hearing how Republicans are such gay-haters. If true, then why do so many self-identified homosexuals (and many more unidentified) vote for us?

Perhaps because some gays agree with enough of the platform (War on Terror and Tax Cuts, for example) that they are willing to overlook the anti-gay ravings of the social conservatives.

I don't think Republicans are gay haters ... at least this one is not. Gays are here and they are in our party.

Frankly, I don't mind gays as long as they do not get special rights and that marriage IS between a man and a woman. Many gays support just that.

What does bother me is the extreme Right which claims they belong in the bedroom. It is THEY who will torpedo this election. It is they who will stay home if Rudy is nominated.

Go Rudy Go!
