I want to Thank all "Conservative" Non-Voters
November 18, 2006 | new yorker 77

Thank you for giving us blanket amnesty for illegals.

Thank you for courageously abandoning our troops.

Thank you for handing victory to the terrorists.

Thank you for guaranteeing higher taxes.

Thank you for guaranteeing no more conservative judges.

Thank you for empowering John McCain.

Thank you for bringing back universal health care.

Thank you for endless investigations.

Most of all, I want to thank you for showing complete disregard for the tens of thousands who spilled their blood to give you your right to vote.

Your callous, self-serving apathy has guaranteed the government actions that you so bitterly complained about.

A final reality check to all you non-voters who still call your self conservative:

You are not a conservative.
You define un-American.
You define un-patriotic.
Please stop pretending to care about the troops.

To all you people who actually voted.

Thank you for defending our Constitution.

Somebody's been hanging around DU too long. Gotta be careful, son - it'll rot your brain. Actually it's probably too late. Anybody using the "chimp" nickname for Bush is too far gone already. You might still be able to salvage a few brain cells if you back away slowly from that Molly Ivins column.

LOL You wont find me in DU. Never been there. I'm your worse nightmare though :>} An Independent voter with a Constitution Party leaning but I do vote GOP as well when they deserve it. Look Bush in 1968 would have been a LBJ Dem. Actually in many respects Bush acts like him especially on Domestic spending issues. I also remember as a kid watching LBJ night after night making hollow threats to North Korea over an act of war.

I don't despise Bush as a person but I dislike a majority of his policies. Hey he makes the chimp faces. What can I say. But you show me where you will find anyone in DU who would say what I posted especially about Iraq. You won't find a DEM saying what I did because I'm not a DEM. I dislike both the GOP and DEMs direction they are taking this nation because they are one in the same and that just isn't my words but the words of George W Bush in 2000 during the Bush/Gore debates. He said he and Mr Gore were not that far apart on most issues. Well I'm miles apart from Gore and I expect no less from whom I vote for.

While you're doing all the thanking, perhaps you ought to thank congress and the President for all they did. Get it through your thick head, it was independents who rose up and voted us out. Normally, they dont vote in off year elections. This year they did because they were pissed. A few conservatives may have stayed home but relatively few. It was the independents that you need to take aim at but then all they will do is continue to vote conservatives out of office if Republicans continue to act like the incompetents who are only interested in power for the sake of power.

I heard not a word from the President or the GOP or the GOP candidates about judges during the campaign. Maybe I just didn't hear it...but I heard not a word.

Should have been here in Missouri. All you heard about from Talent was nursing homes and how McCaskill didnt do a good job of protecting the elderly and how her husband had tax shelters in Bermuda...blah, blah. About the only issue that got discussed at all was stem cells and that didnt win him any votes he didnt already have. Lousy fricking campaign. Only time I heard or saw any interviews with Talent was on national broadcasts like Hannity. Lousy campaign.

Guess they thought all the billions of impersonal Robocalls was going to win them votes. Gosh its nice to get called by Laura and Rudy but do I need five or six calls recorded calls a day. Where were all the personal calls that the Republican GOTV is so proud of. Candidates sucked and the campaigns sucked. Surprise, they lost.

And thank you for giving us the very real possibility of a Hillary Presidency.

Schmucks!

I'm sick and tired of college educated elitist who have been brainwashed by Cultural Marxist that have some how some way made every enemy we have faced since Korea an innocent people and call them a victim of their government. Well they let them come to power to start with. If they want democracy they can follow our example and win it themselves.

Hmmm....Sounds like there's no Republican you could vote for. Not even Rick Santorum, since he supports ''the smirking chimp'' on the war in Iraq.

I hate ''it's my way or the highway'' jerks. And trolls, too.

I agree somewhat with what you've said, but there's a lot more blame to be laid, and I believe the voters are to blame for this...not going to the polls in the primaries and ridding the RINOs of the coveted seats. When only about 25% show up for primaries, then complain about no one worth voting for in November, then whose fault is it?

We need to get good people on the primary ballots, then support them, for heaven's sake! We are a lazy lot. If it means a lot to us to have good choices, then it's up to us to make that happen. The incumbents hope that when they win the primaries that most will go ahead and vote for them rather than have a dem win the seat. Unfortunately, voters stayed home for the primaries and November. This is stupidity! There's no denying that.

We all need to let Martinez know that there will be no support for RINOs in the next election, so serve up some better candidates or face losing for the next 10-20 years!

I agree with your comments.

I would like to add, the Primaries Elections are where the RINOs are eliminated. The General Election is where the conservatives are to retain power.

call it tough love.

when the RNC goes all out for a Lincon Chaffee over a real repub. And the rest of the repubs in office spend like democraps, and act like dems maybe its just best we have dems in office.

maybe the voters culled the sick from the herd.

bullhoey!

we had the votes...just no backbone.

we should have made the dems actually filibuster everything they threatened to filibuster. I would love to see ted kennedy read from the phonebook on the floor.

gutless leadership and a few RINOs and what do we get?

A: what we have now.

I voted, but I don't blame those who chose not to. Not one bit.

To all you people who actually voted. Thank you for defending our Constitution.

That was not an option in most races.

You know what? For the first time in my life I actually held my nose and voted for people I disliked. Republicans. So let me tell you this as someone that actually swallowed hard and did what you coveted so badly despite all feelings to do otherwise.

THE GOP SCREWED US!

If you have a problem acknowledging that, too damn bad. But I have news for you. Those voters would have been with the GOP just like the previous years had the GOP actually done what they promised. Time for you, and others, to deal with that fact.

Do you give up and surrender too soon in all other areas of your life as well? What a wuss.

Why not wait and see how these things ACTUALLY play out before going all Chicken Little and stuff.

Incoming Senate Minority Leader McConnell is talking the talk. Let's see it he'll walk the walk and deny the Leftist Dims their fantasies.

I think he will. But we'll have to wait and see, won't we? All of us except the Mushy Middlers in the GOP, who continue to fight the last war (the war against the conservatives), rather than gearing up for the real war (against the majority party Dims). The Mushy Middlers have already decided that it's all over and the end is nigh.

Which is it going to be for you? The last war or the real war?

Funny, I am willing to thank all the big government compassionate conservatives who let their need for power trump the needs of this Nation. You lost. Blackbird.

The sooner we conservatives get this, the better.

Oh we get it just fine. It's those "roadkill" RATpublicans that didn't get it for years, and apparently still don't get it. I use this whiner thread as evidence of such. Blackbird.

DITTO and well said. You probably remember this warning: "The Hills of Defeat are covered with the bleached bones of those, who with victory in sight, paused to rest."

I worry for this nation once more with the radical left in power.
