New Yorkers Would Choose Hillary over Giuliani in 2008: Poll (Major Barfer)

NEW YORK (AFP) - By a 67-47 percent margin, New Yorkers think senator and former first lady Hillary Clinton would do a better job as US president than their former mayor Rudolph Giuliani, a Quinnipiac University poll found.

Of the two, only Republican Giuliani, 62, has set up a committee to explore a possible run in the 2008 presidential election. Speculation is rampant, however, that Clinton will run as well after she was reelected the US Senate from New York on November 7.

In the poll, 33 percent of New Yorkers said Giuliani would make "a bad president" and 24 percent, "a so-so president," while 14 and 27 percent, respectively, believe he would make a "great" or "good" president.

The wife of former president Bill Clinton, on the other hand, was favored as a "great" or "good" president-to-be by 28 and 36 percent, respectively. Thirteen percent felt she would be a "bad" president and 17 percent, "so-so."

This is *not* a surprise any more than it would be if she were to take Vermont or the District of Columbia.

What the poll does not say is 85% voted for NONE OF THE ABOVE.

Who the hell cares???! What more to we expect from New York? What's surprising is that they managed to elect Giuliani to anything at all. But that doesn't mean they'd go with him over Good Queen Hillary.

Rudy cannot bring NY to his candidacy, that is why he will not win.

Yet, time changes all things.

Well it does explain whey Rudy did not oppose her in this past election, he got the poll results long before this was made public.

All the happy predictions made here in October come to mind, for some reason.

To Quinnipiac University's pollsters:

Talk to me again when you poll people from states that do not have losing (i.e., Democrat) voting records in the last 5 presidential elections. (New York is 0-5).

Until then, sit down and shut up.

Yeah, I noticed the math too...I guess the other 14% are the dead people that would vote for Hillary.

I don't like either of them. Two liberal New York lawyers with fancy Madison Avenue designer labels... no thanks...

I hope that isn't the matchup. If it is, I hope some of my fellow freepers will band together with me to buy a small tropical Island to live out our days. I won't vote for a pro-choice, anti-gun, pro-gay candidate regardless of what party they claim to represent.

What, someone actually expected New York State to vote for a Republican for President? And to vote against Ms. Liberal Dreambabe? Why don't they do a more useful poll and ask if water is wet?

I have been a Republican since I helped Ronald Reagan win the governorship of California and I would vote for Hil before Gul.

Of course, I'd rather eat raw sandpaper, but that's another story.
