I think the proper term is "Skeered". The entire world perceives America as skeered today. Just damn.

The United States has hung itself out for ridicule for ungrateful bastards long enough.

Time and time again, we put ourselves and national interest on the line for what....?

North Korea, one of the original "axis of evil", had developed nuclear weapons, and South Korea knows this. Why are they not concerned? Why are our troops there? How can the president keep our troops and policy at a location where the host nation doesn't recognize the danger? At this point, who cares?

Bush is in danger of folding all his remaining political capital. He is getting down to his last $5 chip.

"Roh said his country "is not taking part in the full scope" of the security initiative, but that it would "support the principles and goals of the PSI," and would cooperate in preventing the transfer of materiel for weapons of mass destruction in northeast Asia.

Bush met with Roh before the opening of a summit of 21 Pacific Rim leaders. The president tried to put the best face on the disagreement, saying he and Roh have a mutual desire to "effectively enforce the will of the world" through U.N. sanctions imposed on North Korea for its nuclear test.

"I appreciate the cooperation we're receiving from South Korea for the Proliferation Security Initiative," Bush said."

>>>>>>How much more crow can Bush eat? Its like trying to put polish on a turd.

"Two Words: Get Out."

Three Words - Get Out NOW.

Isn't this what the anti-war Left proposed that we do with Iraq - simply "contain" Iraq like we've been doing for 50 years with DPRK??

South Korea has some of the largest Christian churches in the world. They send missionaries to every nation including our own. They are, by all appearances, a great Christian nation, but their Christianity is a lie.
The most basic Christian impulse is to care for one's neighbor and to love one's brothers and sisters. South Korea is absolutely paranoid about a sudden influx of North Koreans into their society. They are not willing to threaten the comfort and wealth they have developed for the sake of desperately poor cousins to the north. This is NOT a Christian response. It is selfish and profoundly immoral.
South Koreans will lose their precious comforts because they are not willing to share them. Greed is their byword and poverty will be their reward. They will reap the whirlwind of their failure to be genuine Christians.

"I can not see why we are still in Korea, they don’t won’t us there, don’t need us there …"

Our economy is heavily dependent on South Korea for things like computer memory chips. They need us, and we need them.

South Korea has always had a soft spot for their tormentor next door. It started as the 'Stockholm Syndrome', now it's an illicit love affair...

Lots of FRiends saying, "Get out," "Get out now," and, "Send them to Iraq."

I say, send our forces to JAPAN!.

We MUST defend our true allies, and Japan is one of our mightiest. We can't abandon them.

Yeah, it's time to pull out of S.K. If they don't want to cooperate with US trying to save their sorry behinds we need to say "annyonghi kyeseyo".

Isolationism is looking better to me all the time.

Its interesting how quick the administration made a twist on Iceland and the limited number of US troops there. It took barely four months for a strong recommendation to close...to be announced as administration policy. No discussions. And in less than twelve months...the vast majority of troops (probably in the 3,000 range)...pulled out. Iceland sat there in shock because even though they criticized the US government and the Iraq war...they never thought this would happen. I think in Bush's case...announce a 8,000 troop reduction by summer of 2007 and move those 8,000 billets out to Alaska (no one there complains about getting more troops). The South Koreans would likely pause and think about situation and just what might be announced after that cut. The plus-side is that being in Alaska is only hours away from South Korea by aircraft, and we could reposition these guys within three days by vessel back in South Korea. We could put the 8,000 guys there in Alaska in Quonset huts and make it a 12-month tour just like in South Korea today. Cost would be very marginal and pump up the Alaskan economy just a bit more.

My son is a Army C.I.agent in Seoul and he says the S.K.'s don't like us,they like our money.
$1600.000 a month for 800 sq.ft. apt.

In Irq we need to use all our forces to back the Kurds and the Southern Shia.
In Baghdad we need to get rid of Sadr and his militia.
Take over all the Sunni provinces.

A war with Iran is in the wind and we darn well better get ready.

As for N.K.ships,why do we need the South's permission?
Inspect them in international waters.

What'd you expect by a government that has allowed itself to be thoroughly penetrated by Communists? The good news is that S. Koreans are starting to wake up to this fact.
