Rove May Leave Within Weeks
U.S. News & World Report ^ | November 17, 2006

Posted on 11/17/2006 12:00:02 PM PST by West Coast Conservative

The rumors that chief White House political architect Karl Rove will leave sometime next year are being bolstered with new insider reports that his partisan style is a hurdle to President Bush's new push for bipartisanship. A key Bush advisor tells the US News Political Bulletin, "Karl represents the old style and he's got to go if the Democrats are going to believe Bush's talk of getting along." The advisor said a departure might come in "weeks, not months." A Rove ally, however, noted that he has a record of out-witting his critics.

His time is up, and I for one, think he has done a very good job....

Rove maybe a partisan, but he's no conservative.

So, Rove is leaving in order for Bush to hold hands with Democrats and capitulate to their desires. Wow.

The rumors that chief White House political architect Karl Rove will leave sometime next year are being bolstered with new insider reports [read: unsourced] that his partisan style is a hurdle [blatent bias] to President Bush's new push for bipartisanship. A key Bush advisor [read: unsourced] tells the US News Political Bulletin, "Karl represents the old style and he's got to go if the Democrats are going to believe Bush's talk of getting along." [this is an opinion of one individual (not Rove), not an action] The advisor said a departure might come in "weeks, not months." [read: purposely vague] A Rove ally [read: unsourced], however, noted that he has a record of out-witting his critics.[read: irrelevant opinion]

So what does this article really say?

Someone, although we're not going to say who, doesn't think Rove works well with democrats. And that certain someone thinks that Rove is going to leave.

Of course no attempt was made to ask Karl Rove.

I can think about six explanations for this story.

1. Bush has gone through is last election and Rove wants to get on to fresh pastures.

2. This anonymous insider is one of Rove's rivals for the inside track.

3. Some other insider is trying to push Rove out.

4. Bush is getting tired of Rove.

5. Bush is sending Rove to manage the campaign of his replacement in the White House.

6. This reporter is mistaken.

7. This reporter is lying, and made the whole thing up.

Oops, that's seven. And I could probably think of ten more.

Rove should leave because, well, W. is not running for anything in 2008. He should hitch his wagon to a good candidate's cart and help them win in 2008.

Bush has always been a closet Democrat

So was his dad. I wish more voters had realized this in 2000. Heck he even told them he was such and they still didn't believe him. As for Rove. Wish it had been 5 years ago. His resignation this afternoon would be nice

i hope your right.

Bush did not win in 2000 and 2004 by flip-flopping and by giving in to the Dims!

IMHO part of being a Statesman is getting along with the Democrats. The President is the President of the United States not just he Republican Party.

Bush, by this time in 1998, had more money in is pocket to run with than any other candidate in history. The conservatives didn't "make" Bush, my FRiend. He is the creation of the RINO Country Club Rockefeller types, the CFR, NE Olde Money, the Bildebergers, the Trilateral Commission, etc, etc, etc...

Seems that a lot of people were happy tht the election turned out the way it did just so they could say I TOLD YOU SO.

Kind of breaks my heart to know the troops were thrown under the bus by spite-mongers.

Meh... don't read to much into this. Rove is likely leaving to work on somebody's 2008 campaign.

Are you suggesting that our President is the President of all the people, not just a certain group?
