"I'm still chuckling over the fools I saw camped out at retailers yesterday, just waiting for a chance to buy one of these."

If P.T. Barnum were still alive he would look upon such and smile knowingly.

The new Nvidia cards blow the Xbox 360 GPU out of the water.

Although I am interested in seeing what they can do by integrating the GPU and CPUs.

I have both Gears of War and F.E.A.R. for the 360. The graphics on Gears of War is amazing.

OT but could have impact in gaming world:

AMD's Close To Metal technology increases processing application performance by eightfold

**********************************AN EXCERPT *****************************

AMD has released today something that will vastly increase the performance of Stream technology. Close To Metal, or CTM, is a 3D application programming interface that will give developers access to the native instruction set and memory of the "massively parallel computational elements" in AMD Stream Processors. This means that CTM will give programmers the ability to access the hardware required to make basic tools like debuggers, compilers and math libraries. Over 60 companies and research companies are working with CTM to write their programs. If you would like to try CTM out yourself, please visit AMD's site here.

I bought an Xbox when the came out and found that I barely used it. Being a long time PC gamer, I could never get used to those game pads. Can't aim with them at all, for example.

So except for racing games, I still looked to my PC for games and the xbox sat idle till I finally gave it to my son.

PC games are better anyway, to me. Better graphics, better controls, better content.

Though I do miss playing Gotham racing on my big ol' 46" TV...
