Freeper exclusive: Weapons cache demolition causes many to be sick from exposure in Baghdad
private e-mails | 11/16/2006 | RaceBannon

Posted on 11/16/2006 4:54:12 PM PST by RaceBannon

I just received a private e-mail from someone I know from a Marine website who has family in Iraq. There has been a weapons cache explosion that caused many, hundreds of people to be exposed to some chemical that was present in the weapons.

I guess you got me there. Asking for a plan for the future from those who insist on living in the past is somehow anti-____ (you fill in the blank hotshot). I stand humbled.

I'd like to know why you are this critical thread about our troops trying to convince everyone that the MSM is right and that we are losing this war, when we are in truth winning it?

Cut it out. Let information be conveyed without inserting your own ill informed opinions on this thread.

It makes a HUGE difference that there actually were WMD in Iraq.

Funny I thought the libtards said there were no WMD in Saddam's Iraq ......

No doubt they will stick to that claim until they themselves lie twitching on the ground spasming so hard their bones are breaking.......

I see you also have an opinion - you know what they say...

IMHO, a lot of stuff will be uncovered by various means in the years to come. Probably tens of thousands of tons of stuff buried in backyards, held under water of rivers by chains, and buried in the remote desert areas that fringe most of central Iraq. Prayers for our soldiers and the innocent Iraqi that are now possibly extremly sick to be returned to full health.

You are assuming reporters were at the scene. They may not have been.

His article reads: There has been a weapons cache explosion that caused many, hundreds of people to be exposed to some chemical that was present in the weapons

I am allowed to assume, assuming this Freeper Exclusive is true.

And that is my assumption and I'm sticking to it.

No, but I wouldn't be suprised if it is real.

Considering what has to be done to win in Iraq - please tell me why at this point why it makes a hill of beans. Leave it to the historians to sort out.

Again, so what? Add something constructive to how we now win this war.

Simply increasing its popular support by showing the rightness of our objectives from the start is broadly (but immeasurably) helpful. Mostly through politics, admittedly, but that's how real-world wheels begin turning.

Yes, I have an opinion, but I'm not on a thread where people are trying to find out about the well being of the troops trying discourage everyone by incessantly telling us that we are losing the war.

Most of us know better than to regurgitate MSM bilge.

I mean it. Cut it out. You've made your point.

Public support is critical to the Iraq War and keeping the dems in Congress at bay. The dems in Congress are already planning many pre-war intel hearings.

The public not believing we are in a war based on lies is very important not just for keeping up public support on Iraq, but also being able to convince the US public about Iran.

Found this report concerning some of the 10th Mountain Divisions activities on November 11th. A few days too early perhaps for this event but it looks like they found some major players. Perhaps the interrogations of these guys by the Iraqi's led to the larger weapons cache talked about in the email that started this thread. My bold.

Web page containing the report

Soldiers Detain Suspected Terrorists, Seize Weapons Nov. 13, 2006 –
.......In another operation, Iraqi army and Multinational Division Baghdad soldiers seized a large weapons cache and detained three individuals in the Qa-Qaa apartment complex in Mahmudiyah, 30 kilometers south of Baghdad on Nov. 11.

Iraqi soldiers with the 2nd Battalion, 4th Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division, teamed up with a U.S. advisory team from 2nd Battalion, 15th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, and conducted a cordon-and-knock operation in the apartment complex.

Three 107 mm rockets, 24 82 mm mortar rounds, 17 60 mm mortar rounds, 19 60 mm mortar fuses, 100 mortar charges, two mortar tripods and aiming devices, a rocket-propelled-grenade launcher, an AK-47 assault rifle, an RPK medium machine gun, false identification cards, and four license plates were seized during the operation.

The most significant find in the cache was the discovery of 25 anti-armor improvised explosive device cover plates.

The operation was delayed briefly with the discovery of a car bomb parked near the apartment complex. An explosive ordinance team was brought in to dispose of the car bomb.

The operation was based on actionable intelligence collected from sources in the area, officials said. The detainees are in the custody of the Iraqi army for questioning.

Too late - at this point in the war most in the U.S. and the west could not care the least about any smoking gun that might turn up. Want to turn public opinion? Show progress in Iraq by conducting a successful Counterinsurgency campaign. Hint - hint - COIN is typically 20% military and 80% political...

VaMarVet, you made your point. Now stop arguing with people who have for three years had it rammed down their throats that now WMDs were found in Iraq and it was a war based on falsehoods.

Hell, I was attacked about no WMDs in Iraq even today on another board.
