Many Pahrump residents who opposed a controversial town ordinance may have been intimidated into avoiding the public meeting about it Tuesday night, Hispanics in Politics President Fernando Romero said Wednesday.

Romero said many oppose the ordinance, which declares English the town's official language, sets restrictions on flying foreign flags and denies town benefits to undocumented immigrants, but he can't blame them for not showing up to urge its rejection

In other words, "my side lost, therefore there must have been some cheating going on by my opponents." Typical, childish Democrat response. The only legitimate debate, argument or election is the one where the Liberals win.

There was no reason to mention that people were wearing guns on their hips, if it's legal. (I wonder what the crime rate isn't in that city?) And if Romero thinks that "Democracy went out the window" there, he should attend a South Kingstown Town Council meeting. We've got some rabid socialists up this way.

Call me a racist, but I applaud this and would like to see more of it.

Also, I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived most of my life here. I have never seen a NO MEXICANS sign anywhere in this state!

People need to learn the difference between "racism" and wanting to keep America free of ILLEGAL aliens from any country coming here and using legal citizens tax dollars to feed, clothe, house, and educate them, and give them "free" medical care.

"and using legal citizens tax dollars to feed, clothe, house, and educate them, and give them "free" medical care."

I have an equal problem with "legal" immigrants for whom we do the same.

Well, I do, too, actually--but legals are a bit more easy to take--not much--but a bit!
