Robert has signed up on FR, but has not yet really checked this site out yet. He didn't have much time or access when in the "Sandbox", and since he's been home he's been a bit occupied with all that we've been going through. I'll encourage him to get on FR before he leaves next week.

I salute your father. In 1964 I joined the Air Force and my first assignment was with the Security Police Squadron. I ended up with a 30 year career. May your father rest in peace.

Thank you so much for inviting me to this cyber Memorial for your heroic dad; I'm honored to be here with others to commemorate his life and service to God and country. He must be very, very proud of you. You are carrying on a very great heritage and legacy indeed.

I heard a poignant sermon illustration on the radio yesterday about a teenage football player whose dad died. When the boy returned to the team and to his first game after the burial he begged the coach to put him in the opening line-up, a thing he'd never asked before. The coach hesitated, because the boy was not one of the best players on the team, but he relented, feeling sorry for him with the passing of his dad. To everyone's surprise, this boy played his heart out, and played better than any other member of the team that day, making his personal best showing ever on the field. Afterward the coach asked him, "Did you play in memory of your dad today? Was that the difference?" The young player responded, "Today I played for an audience of one. You see, my dad was blind, and today was the first time he would actually see me play the game."

I bring that illustration to your thread to remind you that your dad actually sees more now than he did before, and you can bet he won't miss this tribute you've made.

What a lovely tribute for your Dad. May he rest in peace and I hope everyone's prayers have helped you through this as much as possible.

Most important besides his other contributions to this country is raising you right.

Thanks for including me.

This is a beautiful work and a loving tribute to your dad. He has left this place a better world for having been in it and taken seriously all of those concerns which really matter the most! Thank you for sharing his life with us.
