KIA, Sgt Courtland Kennard, of Starkville, MS mission is a go. Not posted on the PGR website yet. The services will be this Saturday at 2 pm at the MT. PELIER MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 840 N. Jackson St. The Starkville staging area will be at the Starkville Police Department, 101 East Lampkin Street at 12:30 pm . The station is less than a block from the church. We will then escort to the cemetery after the services.
According to a radio report here on the coast, Phelps and his group have stated that they plan on protesting Sgt. Courtland Kennard's service. This is the fourth time that they have stated that they were going to show in MS and of the other three times they were sighted twice but never actually set up a protest. The reason I am bringing this up is I need to know if anyone else has heard anything. Normally they post on their site their intentions but I haven't seen anything, but their tactics may be changing to add an element of surprise. For those that plan on attending this mission please keep in mind that we will be there for the family first and to block phelps PEACEFULLY second. We must keep our composure and not lower ourselves to their level if they do show up. Let's show America Mississippi patriots are there for their fallen brothers and sisters. see you Saturday. Ed Baker, MS PGR SC
Anyone needing information about staging areas around Mississippi or any other info may FReepmail me.
Mississippi and Patriot Guard Rider ping. It's time to show up big time to honor our fallen hero.
You might want to ping the Alabama list since Starkville an hour or so from the state line.
Starkville IS an hour over teh line.
Starkville IS an hour over the line. Sheesh-- can't type very well tonight.
Found a link in the pending section of the PGR national site. I have spoken to our State Captain and this is a confirmed mission. Bill Lines, the new national director for PGR, will be at this mission.

what some one needs to do with these clowns is to take about 5-10 paintball guns, a few hundred paint balls, inject the paint balls with skunk scent, load then up into the guns, and have their own free fire zone. After having this happen to them each of the next few times they show up, they'll disappear from the scene.
Thank God for the Patriot Guard Riders.
I've searched. I cannot find a ping list for the Alabama folks. If you can point me in the right place, I will certainly ping them in.
Okay -- Alabama is set as my location - I'll just post a link to this thread over there.
Done.
Outstanding. Thanks.
If anyone over that way wants to join up with the Columbus MS group for the ride over to Starkville, they are most welcome to do so.
We are planning to have breakfast at Barnhills and then meet up at the Prairie Pointe Chevron Truck Stop on Hwy 82 West to ride en masse to the Starkville staging area.
And just to clarify, you DO NOT have to be a motorcycle rider to be a part of Patriot Guard Riders or this mission.
Anyone who needs more info is welcome to FReepmail me.
You know, I just want to say to you and your Patriot Guard brethren - **Thank You***
A large military vet cemetary has just gone in within my small town in SW PA - the group of ding dongs showed up to protest at some poor, young soldier's funeral a few weeks ago. Our "whole" (3 on duty) police dept, 5 state cops, one neighboring township cop and two federal cops were there to keep this group "as far away" as possible.
It was from one of our cops that I heard about the Patriot Guard and what you all do - and yes, they were there that day. When I heard how you stand with flags to shield the families from those goofballs, and how you travel far and wide to do so, well, more than just a few tears ran down my cheeks.
You definitely "got their backs."
While I may personally agree with your sentiment and have probably voiced even worse, that "some one" won't be a part of the Patriot Guard Riders group. The local law enforcement folks will make sure there is no problems.
We will be there to honor and respect a fallen hero. The PGR will use every non-confrontational method to make sure that the uninvited guests do not disrupt this, or any, funeral. PGR is a great group and have very successful means of making sure the "UGLIES" don't cause a problem.
Star, see the very kind words from Dasaji. Certainly should be passed on to the PA guys for a job well done.
Dasaji, thank you for the kind words. Just know that the PGR will be there to honor our heros wherever and whenever we are invited.
What? Fred Phelps will show up in Starkville for this? My wife tells me Kennard was one of her students at one time. Watch out Freddy, the good citizens of Starkville maybe friendly, but they are tougher than a Waffle House steak.
They say Phelps was born in Mississippi. I find that hard to believe. The part where he was born that is; I believe someone excreted him out.
