Just conducted an interview with a good friend named Don Shepperd. Don was with a group of War Heads - military affairs analysts from the major networks - who just returned from Israel. There, they were given access to the highest levels of the IDF and Olmert government. I am not sure whether Don has appeared yet on CNN to discuss his trip, but we spoke for about thirty minutes this morning and he had some terrific info on the status of the IDF since the war in Lebanon, and the looming crisis with Iran. Much more than you would get with standard news package on CNN.
As with the last post, would be thrilled if you would pass this on to friends and those interested in the War on Terror
You can download the interview at http://www.northupinfo.com/Podcasts/shepperd/Shepperd.mp3.
Alternatively, the story is also available as a podcast at http://www.northupinfo.com/Podcasts/rss.xml.
Finally, there is an introduction and list of other stories at http://www.northupinfo.com/infocenter.asp .
Thanks,
zkn

There will be no war, or anything else, with Iran...not as long as the liberal Socialists are running our country. Expect plenty of pandering though...lots of it.
for those looking....President Bush in on a trip to key players 'splainin' the general plans of attack on Iran while as well ( get this ) daring Syria to even sneeze.
Useful and intresting. Thanks for taking the time to post it here.
Agreed.
Americans (read: Independents an Libertarians) voted to make this mea, nasty war go away last Tuesday. They don't want to even think about Iran, that is far too bothersome to contemplate. They want to be happy, and Democrats will give them back their vacation from history!!
Having a Dem Congress is technically no obstacle for a war with Iran. President Bush has the authority to use military force without congress approval for 60 days. Then Congress either has to declare war or demand the President to stop.
ping to self
He did plan a stop in Russia on his way to Vietnam... Since the election, the President himself has not shifted his position on Iranian nukes one iota. Maybe State Dept is planning something (per Fox), but that could be a last ditch effort. I believe the President.
I think Iran is going to have to make the first move for us to be able to go in and wax them.
I pray that President Bush can make a good call here. I would not be able to (that's why he's there and I'm not).
i dunno. I read an interview with Condo-Leeza in Readers Digest where she said that Iran having nukes is unacceptable. They'll be ostracized if they get them. I don't know what this president is willing to do any more.
No war with the USA.
That doesn't mean there won't be a war between Israel and Iran.
Each and every statement, action and reaction of Iran in the last 30 years, and even more so the last 3 years, can be seen as declaration/act of war. If they dare to do something stupid with Israel or the Persian Gulf, they will get slapped down.
At least we have a hawk president for two more years.
War Powers Act has never been tested. If the Dems tried to make us capitulate after 60 days it would probably go to the Supreme Court and Impeachment would be back on the table. Dems are salivating for that.
...Evan if it means that a trusted ally gets vaporized?????
bump for later
At least we have a hawk president for two more years.

I hope we do. Hawk versus lame-duck ???
