The Bush administration must tell Iraq that U.S. troops will begin withdrawing in four to six months, the next chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee said Wednesday, as Congress began re- examining U.S. policy in the wake of last week's Democratic election victory.
"We cannot save the Iraqis from themselves. The only way for Iraqi leaders to squarely face that reality is for President Bush to tell them that the United States will begin a phased redeployment of our forces within four to six months," Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., said at the outset of a hearing featuring the top U.S. commander in the Middle East.
Redeploy them to Iran!
Pray for W and Our Troops
These Sen's are not worthy to shine the General's boots..
I know...I know...I am not happy with the current level of education being done by the adminstration regarding Iraq..
Thank you GOD for General Abizaid..
Now the General is taking on Linseed, and he handles him quite nicely as well. Graham is of course McCain's mouthpiece in the hearing.
You are so right:)
This is all Iran's doing...they have created a nightmare...and PC has kept us from REALLY taking care of business..
So this is what the Dems plan was all along...cut and run. They harped on President Bush about no exit strategy, while all along there's was just to run away.
God I HATE these RINOS.
I detest libs- but I especially detest them when they call themselves Republicans..
Abizaid is a .."an officer and a gentleman"....and brilliant.
Cute as a Button Sessions up!!!
He appears not to be very pleased with the efforts of the State Department.
Thank you!! This has been my fear since the election. My dh is leaving in February, and this is the first deployment that has actually scared me, and he was in Afghanistan in early 2002.
I have this vision of them bringing home the Reserves and Guard because, let's face it, their homecomings look better on tv (not that they don't deserve to be home, but you get my meaning), and that the smaller units will be stuck there with no real support.
It's all a chess game for these jerks, but this is my husband, my family, and we have NEVER complained about this life, but I would like him to have at least a fighting chance. The Dems need to at least have a better plan before they start demanding withdrawal.
They may crow about their superiority and how GW owes the troops an apology, but if the cut 'n runners keep on like this, they will be the ones responsible for needless deaths, IMO, not the other way around. But of course, we are stupid anyway, so who cares what we think.
I hear that...he's also not happy that as soon as the bad guys get locked up- they get released by the Iraqi's...
Oh geeeeesh...here comes my Senator, Bill Nelson. I really cannot abide him..
I share your concerns...my son is there now and hubby goes back in 07....I wish the President would address this real soon...I am so worried right now.
Sen. Nelson is too dumb to understand what Abazaid is telling him.
...."um..Bush doesn't have to do a damn thing they tell him"....
Exactly! The libs and their bubbies in the MSM are acting as if they have been elected rulers of this country. NOT! We still have a GOP president (thank God!). Geez, I thought these moonbats' didn't even take office until January?
Oh geeeesh..now McCain.
McCain up...belch
McCain: "General, you simply MUST agree with me as I am always right."
Mc Cain is right- but so is Abiziad- they're focusing on different goals. If the goal is to BEAT the insurgency and kick their butts- McCain is correct. If the GOAL is to train and stand up an Iraqi army to do accomplish the first goal- Abiziad is right..
Abiziad just SMACKED McCain..LOL!
