It looks to me like the people voting Libertarian made the difference in Conrad winning or losing. That's really a shame. Is Montana going Blue along with the rest of the West from Californian's?

I said I misread your question.

But I knew it was Durbin already; I actually pay attention to who's screwing us, theirs AND ours.

I certainly hope Montana isn't trending leftward. At least the Legislature isn't completely controlled by the Democrats. The Republican's wrested control of one side of the Legislature.

Stan Jones is a Y2K conspiracy KOOK, who drinks colloidal silver for homeopathic health benefits, and thus goes around looking like he's starved of oxygen (blue tinged skin). It boggles my mind he managed to get 10,000 votes.

Yeah, well I find it hysterial when someone is predicting that we won't get the majority back for 8 to 12 years. FGS, we didn't exactly lose by a landslide. We lost because "our" pundits spent more time attacking our president then they did attacking the democrats. We lost because so many house members ran away from Bush.

And on this site, there has been way to many accusations of RINO and right wing whack job. FGS, tonight I was called both on two threads within seconds of each other.

Thanks! I will do that, and, hope that others that feel the same way, do the same. I'm sure Sen Martinez is a very nice person, I just don't think that his comments on illegal immigration are helpful to the party; and, I think the party needs someone that will be on the job and not distracted by other duties, that can speak openly about the vision and platform, and be on the offense in countering the Dims and MSM lies and half-truths. We have a tough road to '08 and, IMHO, we need visionary, articulate people that are going to fight the fight for conservatism and w the Dims and MSM out in front.

I will also add that I could never vote for the guy who doesn't inspire optimism. Stan Jones' closing remarks at the one and only debate he bothered to show up in (ironically in his home town) spent his entire time (2 minutes I believe) reading a conspiratorial rotgut article, verbatim from World Nut Daily.

Tester was simply an a-hole and a punk. Who went on this crusade to convince the people he was going to change the climate in DC singlehandedly and not be influenced by lobbyists. He'll have to hole himself up in a bunker somewhere because that whole town is nothing but lobbyists and pols, if he doesn't want to come near a lobbyist. Then said such stupidity like he balanced the state's budget every year, when that's what states are supposed to do. It's federal law.

The people of this country voted for change. I hope to hell they're happy for the next two years, because I'm not.

Naw, I started this thread saying it was good that Trent is at Whip and basically I am still there.

I just don't like him all that much. I see his fingerprints where they shouldn't be. I didn't feel that way as this thread began but now I have decided.. Lott has been working against the conservative agenda to re-secure his position. Just gamesmanship. And it disappoints me.

You haven't provoked me.. I am saying that you are just wrong headed. Republicans have had their fill with RINOs like DeWine, Snow, Chaffee and Hegel. We will instead continue the process of educating and moving the center to the right.

The problem for the left is that the megatrend leading to the left has died in disgrace. Radical Feminism, Gay Marriage, Abortion, Athiesm, Socialism, Radical Environmentalism, Unionism and The Great Society have all been exposed as blind alleys that have swallowed human hopes and dreams and only brought evil.

For now, I am with the conservatives who intend to build a super-majority out of the best of America. Folks have gone on and on about Goebbels and how the BIG LIE can be made into the truth. But the facts are, just like poor Baghdad Bob found out, something that can only be forestalled, not prevented from finding the light.

The Dems ran the Generic opposition campaign trying to run Generic candidates and they won without any positions at all.

But now, they have to find a way to govern based on this mess and its biting them. It will bite them more as they try to return to their ideological base for direction. This is because the empirical evidence has stacked up against almost every one of the core Liberal values. Instead, core conservative and traditional values have been found to be foundationed on experience and reason. The traditional values were created as a means of passing down hard won knowledge.

This country can't take wild swings to either extreme. You take gradual steps to achive the goal. These Hail Mary passes toward the end of the game always end up being a fumble or an INT. 2006 just turned out to be a both.

We need to reach out to all groups and peoples who believe that government should be limited but our hearts should be big. That God is the source of good in this world but that each individual has the responsibility to make the world just a bit better. That courage, duty, loyalty, honor, chastity, fidelity and consistency are not old quaint ideals, but the core of a worthy society.

We don't need to reach out to those who would kill children, destroy our country, or value money and power above all things.

Wisdom is knowing what we must tolerate and what we cannot. What we should create and what we should avoid creating.

On primaries, the party has drifted from functioning as a party and must get back to this. The swing to pure electoral determination of candidates hasn't worked out.

We are in a situation that primaries do too much damage to the candidate when the general comes along so they are avoided at all costs. This makes the party and candidates very unresponsive to the voters. Changes are coming courtesy of the web and blogosphere that will swing this pendulum back and the party that does this first will have a great advantage.

Third party candidates almost always elect the candidate they hate the most and undercut the candidate they hate the least. Yet they very seldom win. Lieberman was a very rare event.

The question is .. what the hell do we do now?

Start our own party & call it "Conservatives" cause the Repubs have gone far away from it.

I like the KEY WORD for this : "There goes 2008".

They could not have picked a worse person for the post. I guess they want to be a permanent minority.

Que sera.

The Dems didn't win just becaause of the money they spent
There are many reasons ... one being
We lost because our side either stayed home or voted 3rd party
