Some of you guys are on the brink of total depression and this is a sign of weak people. Weak people cannot rule, they always lose. Depression? Not in the least. On the contrary, people are PO'd.
I do agree with you that weak people cannot rule - and Lott is the weakest Senator I can imagine. He's freaking pathetic.
To: ilovew
Flame me all you will, but the party has a lot more to worry about that Trent Lott as the Senate Minority leader.
He's minority whip, not leader, my error and apology.

Mitch still has a long shot at Senate top dog, lets keep hoping! If they push Joe too hard, he has made it clear that he will consider crossing the aisle, and Iraq is that issue.

What a pathetic and stupid post. To throw Bill Clinton from office would have required 67 votes in the Senate. Even if all 54 republicans voted then to remove Clinton from office, where are you going to get the remaining 13 democrat Senators to do so? Some of you guys are really pathetic and stupid.

Hey! Stop spoiling the fun. Good grief. This thread is a disappointment at best.Hey! Some of us do not have fun watching our country go down the tubes. Maybe some should see what is really going on in this party.

Weak people cannot rule, they always lose.Seems like you are describing the GOP, not us.
We're not the ones living in denial of the lessons delivered by voters just over a week ago.

Trent Lott, GOP Choice [Andrew Stuttaford]
Here's what Talleyrand reportedly said about the last Bourbon rulers of France: "They have learned nothing and forgotten nothing."
Here's what Trent Lott reportedly said about attacks on earmarking:
"I'll just say this about the so-called Porkbusters. I'm getting damn tired of hearing from them. They have been nothing but trouble ever since Katrina."
I have nothing more to add.
(more from National Review) who seem to all hate this choice. Why wouldn't we be thrilled about the king of pork as the whip in the age of the Bridge to Nowhere? Sigh.

Why don't you explain to me why I should be happy aboutr a man who POWER SHARED away all our constitutional rights? **************
I don't think anything would make you happy, so it's a moot point.

Looks like Republicanism will take another ass whooping in 08 while Conservatives wonder what in the Hell happened to Reagan's Conservative Revolution Dream and the "Contract With America" which swept Republicans into majority status 12 years ago.

"I'll just say this about the so-called Porkbusters. I'm getting damn tired of hearing from them. They have been nothing but trouble ever since Katrina." I would hope concerned pubbies across the GOP spectrum would make sure that Lott gets even more tired of hearing from porkbusters. We HAVE to make the GOP serious about ending earmarks and their legal corruption that they love to roll in.

He really paid for that idiocy. But, here he is back again. Back from disgrace and ignominy. Why? How? Because he knows how to get things done. I never want to see him as Majority Leader again. That would be a mistake but whip isn't a glamor job. Its a down in the trenches job. The biggest hit on him for this.. is that he probably is ready to use dealing on Pork as a means of getting discipline.
However, this whole bunch is responsible for spending money. As the Minority, they eat scraps left by the Majority. So, mostly they will have to make due without. So, in the short run, it will be getting the job we need doing done as the first order of business.
Lott will be fine.

I am | | that close from being done. Me too but at least Mitch McConnell as Majority Leader is a good move. I'll get over my dark mood after I can put some time after this election.

Some of you guys are really pathetic and stupid. Gimme a break. Just because you have an overwhelming need to carry the water for GOP moderates like Lott doesn't mean the rest of us should play along.
