If you're posting an article from a website that requires membership to view the rest of the article, please note that somehow -- whether in your comments or in the headline.
Also, does anyone think it is a good idea to create a box you can check when posting the article, like the "This is an excerpt" box that will give that article some sort of lable indicating it is from a subscribers-only source?
Let's be honest, it's pretty annoying to start reading an interesting article only to find out that you have to register to read the rest.
http://www.bugmenot.com should be noted when discussing this subject.
Many a good article have been left unread by me due to this.
I think your ideas are good ones.
Or you can click my screen name, scroll down and use my log on info to many listed sources, it's good for some sources that aren't listed too.
1. above a certain number of views
2. above a certain number of replies
3. a ratio of those two values
I've seen a tag line to that effect, "Member since 1997 and never read an article before posting"
If I have to log in, I just don't read the article. It is annoying, I agree. I'd appreciate some kind of signal, too.
